    Hello all,

I love rFactor 2 so much but when I went to the developers' modding resources page and tried to learn how to mod a car into the game, I was unable to learn how to start modding. All of the tutorials were for people who already knew how to mod or were just too general and didn't have a step-by-step process from nothing.

I am on a FSAE team and would love to mod our car into the game for driver testing and for practice with modding. Are there any useful links for me to use, or is anyone willing to help me with this process?

Have you at least gotten as far as packing and unpacking a mod using MAS2.exe?

Unfortunately with the change over from ISI to S397 we lost the wiki and all the pdf's that ISI did.
It also doesn't seem a priority of S397 to get new guides made atm.
I must say the guides they have provided are step by step. So hopefully all the future guides will be the same.

Yes, I'm aware of the Modding Resources webpage, but I'm literally starting from a cad file and tire data and nothing on that webpage tells me how to get from basically nothing to a working mod, it just says "oh this is how it's structured and how the files reference each other". I can't find a guide for starting from scratch...

I think I'll just unpack the kart mod and tweak it for our car. I have 3DSimED, it seemed like it would help.

You won't be able to unpack any of the paid for content that you need eg: tyres, suspension etc.
I'm not sure how much S397 and ISI free content is encrypted.

A kart would be a poor starting point for FSAE as they have very little in common.

Yeah true, I actually believe that FSAE and Skip Barber share some similarities. Correct me again if I'm wrong, lol.

Which part of the physics have you looked at and is giving you problems? It would also be best to start a new thread specific to your issue rather than gravedigging a year old thread.
