The video was posted in March when DX11 was not available yet, so it's the standard Track Map plugin.
That's too bad. Now that I deleted the old shadeds rF2 look amazing in VR. Colors are best. I would even go as far as saying AC's Nordschleife looks better here. Clear and sharp.
There is. DJC replied a while back with this: I do. I've fixed a lot of the over bright objects already. I was part of the early access to the early DX11 builds. I've reworked some night lighting on the the GP circuit. As for better FPS, sorry to say there is little I can do there, should be same as the current 2.01 version. I too have a big drop in FPS on my machine with DX11. I'm away at the moment but will continue when I get back.
Guys, I decided to do the obvious, test in dx11 to see what happened, honestly, the track doesn't have to be converted to dx11, it works perfectly well. I tested with 20 AI cars. ***PS: Whitout PP Efects
There are quite a few tracks that work well in DX11 without needing to be converted. It's the dodgy rF1 ports that have horrendous amounts of bloom that need the work done to them
Some tracks, like the new Road Atlanta have just small areas where the bloom is noticeable. Others like the Red Bull Ring have glaring overly bright signage at several locations around the circuit. Most track conversions don't NEED the update to work in DX11, you just have to be willing to put up with glaring items now and then. In a perfect world, all the various track creators would return and release updates of the tracks that include the proper files to display dx11 content without the excess bloom.
If track creator makes textures within Albedo rules, there is (usually) no need to update anything for DX11. Same rules has been applied on DX9 as well for some time.
I'm sorry but what is the difference with the v.201 and the version from Assetto converted ? and what is the difference bewteen DX11 track and DX9 track ?
DX11 version has just been optimised for the shaders. If you load up say Knockhill or Gold Coast which hasn't been optimised the bloom is blinding. DX11 optimised tracks like Misano etc have been optimised to make the most out of the shaders. The AC converted is exactly that while v201 I think has been either built from the ground up or is an RF1 convert.
v2.01 has multiple layouts to include the 24HR and VLN course. AC conversion is just Nords. V2.01 is very good but maybe not as accurate in the Nords section and has not been updated for DX11 (though still looks good). It is also a better night driving experience.
Hi guys, sorry for being a bit quiet. Back in May last year I announced I was working on an update for you. Well, things got in the way, like me sorting out my broken car, then scraping said broking car, to get another car for that to be broken too. :O. Plus traveling to visit the girlfriend who lives a long way away. Well, in the end, Nords update got left behind . But there is good news, I've found lots of time to work on it again. You can thank me for being unemployed this last 3 months for that :/. McFlex said a few pages ago he has file's with removed kerbstones at the big and small karussel's. He has already given them to me and will be part of this update. I thank him again. I've not had the help from Tosch this time. I have not seen him on the forum in sometime, hope he is well. If all goes well, I'm hoping to release this update late this weekend . Spam that F5 key DJC
There's any possibility of making the tarmac more plane, like the converted version of nords from Assetto Corsa?
@DJCruicky Awesome news that you are updating this. And potentially in such a small timeframe . It is a favourite of mine (absolutely love the spotlights in the night race..sometimes its the simple things!). Shame it wasn't under better circumstances you are doing this but I'm sure it will be really appreciated by those who already use it and any new players coming to rFactor2. The ongoing work by modders and S397 make IMHO rFactor2 a really exciting place to be.
