I had given up trying to drive the Marussia, man that thing is impossible, until that is i tried it with my Rift, I can now do laps with it, and man is it a fun car to drive. Still difficult as fuk but given time I think it could be my goto F1 car in any current VR racing Sim.
I use the F1 Fanatic 2017 mod. It's all in Spanish (which doesn't bother me since I speak it) and the cars are a little underpowered but it works.
You belong to the same community of the author of the mod (who was banned from this forum) and regularly ask questions regarding modding. Last one regarding upgrades for this mod. There is no need for further explanation. I just hope you used original model this time.
Some of mods not as good as you thought anyhow. Current DLC cars are excellent. rF2 F1 and F3 cars (include classic open wheelers) are best to none. You would not get better from other sims though. Other rF2 excellent cars as my experienced are listed below (I dont driver cars other than following cars --- dont waste time): Bently Continuental GT3 Callaway Corvette C7 GT3 Chevrolet Camaro GT3, GT2 Corvette GT2 IndyCar Dallara DV12 Mclaren 650s GT3 Mercedes AMG GT3 Nissan 370z GT4, GTR GT1, GTR GT500 Radical SR RSX Radical RXC Turbo GT3 Renault Megane Trophy StockCars Note: concluded from my experience on my 3dof motion rig with Accuforce DD wheel. My driving screen without showing dashboard, steering wheel, and cockpit (camera on hood). I could not drive with cockpit camera view (showing cockpit and dashboard). Screen is flat, once show you will see. I don't think it is realistic. In real life, our eyes focus far away >40 ft so that you never see your dashboard and cockpit while driving (even they are in your FOV, but they are out of focus so you dont see).
Thanks for your post (and praise) Just a minor correction that Slow Motion Group is a team, not one person
Yes, sorry, I didn't express me correctly. I think I was referring to the nickname "Slowmotion" on the forum.
Talking about paid mods. Have guys received an email from Race Sim Studio about them bringing their content to RF2? I hope they bring the 2018 F1. Ive got the 2017 F1 from them for AC. Not bad at all.
Problem with paid mods is that they are made to please the average audience (which wants to feel like a pro driver, do close lap times and do miracles saves). Almost same problem with DLCs. Too much Verstappens and few Maldonados in virtual world
and the problem with some sim racers is that they want cars in sims to be harder than in real life, thus unrealistic
lol i would be happy enough if i manage to do laps at least 2s slower than a f1 driver like Maldonado using the same hardware as he ( Maldonado shouldnt be neither 0.7sec slower than Verstappen with the same car)
I can believe you could be faster. In a sim you have no emotions to worry about or physical demands. You can die again and again until you get it right without any troma to worry about. I remember shaking and losing my nerve in my V8 Vega at times.
Sure. I agree. Not even considering the "balls factor" of making turns and fighting for position at 250km/h, but these guys start to race since early age. Even pay drivers in f1. And they also train in simulators.
