GPL had decent physics. Can't expect a car that light with that much power and those tyres with no downforce to be stuck to the ground.

What about those WTF moments, when you loose the car without knowing why?
The last generation of sims got over that, AMS, AC and rF2 don’t feature that anymore.

Well, where I came from Dumont invented the airplane and Leibiniz invented Calculus.
But these guys from the USoA keep talking about Newton and those Wright brothers.

Well, getting to know you from your last 2 posts, leads me to the conclusion, you are a mindless idiot!
Maybe you are just a bot.

Reiza stopped working with separat inertia values. Nowadays its getting calculated by the vehicle mass what i think is a big improvement compared to play with values until someone think it feels right now.

Older Engine in therms of what? Assetto Corsa is based on Netcar Pro, what is old and relatively simple too.

Netkar pro alone had 4 tyre models.
AC, as others stated, is not an enhancement of an older engine.
In addition to that Im not sure but I think they released a new tyre model in V10, which I think was the sixth update to their tyre models.

Creating a new engine does not mean, that the physics get calculated in a different way.
Compared to rFactor2 the tyre modell of AC is relativ simple, because the whole AI uses it, while no actuell PC could handle that for rFactor2, so that the AI uses the older rFactor modell.

That the model of AC tire is simpler does not mean that it is less real or more bad, many calculations can bring more errors. I usually read through the forum that rF2 is the most real simulator (best physics), but I do not see any proof of it, personally I do not feel rF2 more real. There are several professional pilots who have surrendered to Assetto Corsa for the loyalty of their cars and most of the simracers have chosen it for some reason.

I use rF2 in a private league because of its great possibilities to develop a real race, but driving AC and AMS give me more realism.

I dont understand anything about it other than what Niels wrote on the subject so I might be totally wrong.
But the last time someone asked AC used an empirical tyre model. And that would be the reason why they would be able to run the AI with it.
Again, straight out of my a*.

AC model isn't the best at simulating racing over the limit . I think consensus is that rF2 and probably AMS(which is much simpler than rF2) are currently the best in such cases.

funny nikki thiim an actual gt driver thinks it does
also the video with aris and the lambo, it pretty much acts like the real thing does over the limit.

I'm no AC fan boy but its up there with rf2 in term of physics, i just don't thin kthe ffb is as good. or the AI!

I think too many people expect the cars to be glued to the road. That's not the case.

Admittedly some do wash too easily, but the ones that work well; work.

It just baffles me how people can say AC does over the limit physics wrong compared to RF2, when even the rf2 physics dev has come out and said that the numbers have been wrong all this time regarding over the limit physics?!

Yes AC cold tyres do understeer more than one might think but i certainly don't get that with heated up tyres.
    .....anyway

    As you were gents! :)
