You alt tab once or multiple times?
    Fullscreen mode or windowed mode?
    From garage?

I am open to anything for a few fps more.

In rain on race start in traffic I am having 25-30 fps.
Rain drops to low, all other options to really low setting so I could have 50-100 fps on sunny race start depending on combo.
    I7-6700
    Gtx 960m pcie 3.0x16
    16gb ram

In nvidia panel everything set to performance
I tried unparking cores and most of the tips from this forum.
I don't know what to try anymore to get playable fps in rain.

@Filip You hold alt and scroll with tab and when the white frame is in the top of rF2 screen you just release alt.

    Edit: Use fullscreen

    FullScreen.
I would say that first time I didn't Alt Tab correctly. The second time FPS improved. In the first case I had closed a chrome window so I am not sure it it switched directly. When I do more tries I will have it more clear how it works in my case.

If you close or minimize all the apps including steam and tick in rFactor 2 launcher, settings, Auto Close Launcher there is no need to alt + tab :)

I already have Auto Close Launcher and am closing all apps except Logitech profiler and Crew Chief. But I didn't minimize them, will try that too.

What sort of frame rates should i expect with a GTX970 on max settings using triple monitor?

    I would presume unacceptable values.
You will probably need to sacrifice something.

Did I read somewhere that DX11 performance is really bad at the moment but will get better once they switch off DX9 completely? Can I expect better framerates using the DX9 build with same settings (compared to DX11 with PP off)?

When my 970 packed up it was replaced by evga with a 1060,which gave me exact same fps as the 970 in other games
I5 4690k stock gtx 1060,I run triple 24” 60hz screens with most settings on high, some on full, apart from shadows which is low or off, can’t remember, and medium ppeffects.
Fps with official content is solid 84fps,with a couple of things turned down to medium I used to run 121fps.
Depending if your running pcie 3.0,or 2.0 will have a great effect on performance, but I think for some reason, which I can’t remember,10series cards seem to work better with dx11 rf2.
If you have a decent cpu ie mod range, and pcie 3.0 you’re good to go.
But if you can afford it and can actually find one for a good price,a gtx 1070ti would be better and give more head room for future demands from rf2

Edit, just read you said max settings, for that I don’t know because I’ve never tried max settings,as I like to be around 84 or above fps.

But truthfully the difference between max and high,I can never tell the difference visually in any game I’ve tried, max settings is just for people to say I can run them imho

You can try. Many people have reported that included myself with my old laptop.
I changed my PC and since I am now using VR with full settings I haven't tested DX9. I was tired of that problem so I got rid of it.

    Thread closed.
We won't be needing these comparisons anymore.
If you encounter issues, please use the support link in the Launcher to file a bug report.
    Thanks :)
