Hi all, Is it possible to start on a damp track? As if it chucked it down the morning of the race but stopped before the actual start. Thanks,
You mean in praccy qual or race? If you want it damp at the start of race or qual, make sure the session you want to start damp is set to 'Naturally progressing' (example race), run a rainy session in the previous session (qual for example), wait for the track to get wet, forward to the next session (race) - track will be wet/damp...
hhhmmm but the only preset you can run naturally progressing is scripted. (think i noted this a few weeks back chris) . This I'm 100% sure has changed, as i used to run an overcast preset with Nat prog. But until the rain update i am unable to do this. So now every preset (apart from scripted) uses a high preset. I forget now, is it scripted that you can edit or the presets. ?! lol
@Marcel Offermans okay this is interesting just watched Simracing paddocks new rf2 video, He originally loaded up matsusuka. He was able to have nat prog on an overcast track. however the track then crashed! He then went to silverstone and he wasn’t able to use nat prog on overcast anymore. So its something in the new tracks !
Yeah you are right, the updated tracks for some reason have realroad presets for all sessions at default. This eliminates the accumulation of rain, so you lose all the wet road when moving to next session. Not sure why this was changed, as the older tracks still have naturally progressing set for Q and R sessions.
You can config the sessions in naturally progressing. Use the Weather plugin with rain in practice and without rain before the race. https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/weatherplugin.58614/
As i don't use it on offline, i don't know. Is not possible to force the naturally progressing in offline mode?
@LokiD Not sure what you are referring about, "naturally progressing" is actually a preset itself. As Christopher said run a session with rainy weather next session must have natually progressing as a real road preset that's the result in Q
Other way to start with damp track is simply save the real road when the track is wet and load it as a preset in your session.
Thanks a lot for the help! Is there any way of having it already wet for the start of a test session? Other than set it to rain and advance time til its no longer raining?
theres still the issue that you CANT have an evolving track (naturally progressing) on a preset weather. I dont want to keep adjusting the scripted setting every session for sun or all cloud. etc
If you use the realroad "autosave" and if there were rain at the previous session, the realroad use will have wet road (+ previous rubber).
I know it's been a while but if someone else find this thread here is a tip for you. Select a preset you want to run and change one parameter and now it becomes scripted. You can change the parameter you back to it's original setting if you want.
