Hi all, hope this is in the right thread part of the forums: I'm wanting to do a 'road to F1' series on my YouTube channel and the Formula Ford mod, while good, has all the drivers listed as 'driver 69' or something like that (I'm at work and my brain is fried). I'm quite handy with modding files from my Flight Simulator/GTA modding days, so I was just wondering the best way to change 'driver 69' 'driver 44' etc to either the names from the 2007 British F-Ford season or a bunch of names I'll just make up. Cheers,
Drivers names are located with in the VEH file's. You would have to extract the files from the mas. Edit and then repackage.
I see Whilst you're changing names, you'll probably want to update the textures for DX11 too. Or wait for the guy who made it to do it!
Hi AMillward, a useful thing is also: You can change your actual name in the game. For example in the info box it would say the name that you have chosen. Also appears in spectator mode. Go to: C:\Users\PC-Username\AppData\Roaming\.rFactor and simply input your name into the .name file. Hope you find it useful, as I didn't know about this option until recently.
Yeah, that's exact: Extract the .mas on a temporary folder, open each .veh files and change the driver name. But, if I'm not wrong, while packing back the .mas, will be the mod again checked by the game? I mean, when I change something in a packed mod, it will always become "invisible" to the game. Perhaps it's better, after changing the driver names, to create a duplicate of every single vehicle, so the mod will continue to work. Am I right?
