Anyone got good modern v10 mods? I would like to have the 2003 season for example.

Think the most recent you're going to find is 1999 on the Workshop

I don't really like the idea of fictional cars, could be fun but I like it when it's real cars.

    It's crap though.

I need to fix the physics, tyres, and the sounds are less than satisfactory.

I'm lazy. But it's been on my "to do" list for months.

I found that was just a 2017 mod with 2017 engine behaviour but with V10 sounds. If it had the engines of the early 2000s (7 gears, proper torque curve) it would be on its way.

    Haha, glad to hear.

@momoracer - Is 2002 modern enough? I have to check out the F1 Challenge models first to see if they're good enough, but if they look decent enough in rF2 I could bring that over. A few hours ago I had the urge of bringing Traction Control era cars over. I've learnt a lot about how physics work and such, so it should be a lot better than my 1999 conversion.

Probably the most nostalgic season. At least for me, I had two 2002 games on PS2. F1 2002 by EA and Grand Prix Challenge by Atari and Infogrames. Basically grew up playing that season from ages 8 - 11.

I think Grand Prix Challenge was the console version of Grand Prix 4. They were different, as most games were between their console and PC versions back in the day, but both had the "Grand Prix" name and were published by Infogrames.

2005 would be the ultimate one to do, as it was the end of the V10 era and those cars were at their absolute most powerful. 2004 cars were faster but that Ferrari was just OP.

2002 would be good, what's the legality on doing what you plan to do? I know there are rules involved.

Yeah 2002 cars were cool. I remember playing F1 challenge as a kid.

ISI probably wont mind. FOM don't like people making addons of their sport for some weird reason, but f FOM. WCP and F1RL converted F1 Challenge models into rFactor 1 back in the day, so...

Yeah, maybe I'll look into it. I just assumed it would be more difficult to bring something over from there lol.

Edit: The 2002 mod for GP4 is converted from F1 Challenge anyway. xD

Wow, and here I am at 24 and I can't even model a box.

It does look better than F1 Challenge in the screenshots, however I think most of that is due to a different game engine, and updated textures. I think I can make it look just as good. Give me a few months and I'll report back :p
