Last nite I noticed some AI vehicles "loosing parts" like wheels or windows. This is from cockpit view and becomes more severe further away AI car is. Could it be fps related because new Radical GT3 is most affected while howston dissenter didn't seem to have that problem? I have opponent details set to medium. Didn' t have this problem before. In track cam replay no such issues. You can see it even in Jimmy Broadbent video with new gt3 pack when he mentions ghost car
That's an issue with LODs in the GEN file. In my cars I remove all the <MAX>, <HIGH>, <MED>, <LOW> lines and just have a single section of lines for the LODs. This means that no matter what settings you run, you will have the same 3D models, and the same LOD in and LOD outs. Perhaps this isn't ideal for performance, but this is the 21st Century.
thx dylbie but I am not gonna unpack and modify every single car I drive and do it again when new version comes out @WiZPER I won't be at PC for a few days but you can see "ghost car" behind the leader car at 1:30 and 1:40 of mentioned video
I wouldn't expect you to. I'm surprised actually this got past QC. The good news is that it's a 10 second job, and as it's official content I'd expect this minor patch will be 'hot-fixed' very soon.
pathetic stuff ... and to have 99% GPU Load with 11 cars visible on a 1080... not even gonna comment..
Do you have "auto detail FPS" setting on? It would drop out parts of vehicles if FPS falls below set value. I wish game didn't do that, instead just hid most remote vehicle. Auto Detail feature might be very handy in VR, if it worked better.
Thank you! That's probably the cause. I turned it on few days ago reading somewhere it can improve performance. Didn't have these problems then and forgot about it until you mentioned it now. Accidentily new build came out at the same time.
I have opponent on low and auto fps = on . I have the same "problem" but I prefer this 100% than to have low and irregular FPS.
I prefer smoothness too. So if I lower opponent details, turn the auto fps on and lower it maybe a bit it should be smoother because of more stable fps, right? But my fps is fluctuating between 40 and 100 even with auto fps iirc so what does this option actually do?
yes it was auto detail :/ sigh ... now its just Slow.... Shadows are the culprit but feels odd to have to put shadows in LOW ( almost same as off ) to not have a 1080 and a 4770K on its knees :/
it's a very nice option when it works. Sometimes it works really well - nice thing to keep 45 in VR during starts. Unfortunately, has problems (missing parts) sometimes.
Auto fps is not a miracle option but help a lot for medium pc. It works very fine to avoid to have 58-59fps. It help too for huge fps lost but is not a miracle
I appreciate your help but as I said I couldn't do it because I 'm not near my pc. I post this problem hoping there is a simple solution. And there was thanks to The Iron Wolf (I hope, haven't tried it yet).
Why even start searching for a solution, if you can't test it or supply further information for several days ? It makes no sense to me.
