The update that added vr loading screens is causing a bit of an issue for me. When I start rFactor 2 it unchecks "Enable VR Dashboard" in steam vr settings. It can be re-enabled easily enough, but its still aggravating since I use that feature while in game quite often to tweak settings in sim commander, etc. If I'm quick enough I can re-enable it before the game actually loads, but it still locks me out of the steam vr dashboard. The game also causes my steam vr environment to be reset. It still appears as active, but it isn't. Pressing "restore default" then re-applying my current environment fixes the issue.
Exact same issue here, because I pretty much only play RF2 I had not realized that it was the cause of this. Adrian...don't know what other people use if for but I use it to see the desktop in the headset to view the servers screen and to view motec data without having to flip the hmd off since my screen is not visible from where my rig is set up...lately it has been a real drag having to get up and look at the screen.
I didn't know you could go into steam vr while in rF2. I know I could do that in Oculus store. While in AC I forgot and started pcars. I wonder if there would have been some lag? Getting back to rF2, can you recenter while ingame?
Studio 397.. can this be fixed in a small HitFix update, or will it be in a later larger update? This is really been a pain!! As for example, I sometimes change from my vr back to triples, go into game, And I cannot reach the exit icon,As I forgot to check resolution before entering game and it is at my center monitors resolution,a higher res than two outers.. typically Icould just go into dashboard and change it, but now actually forced to reboot the computer..also if I have to restart simvibe,..
I cant see my tv from my racing rig, so dropping into the dashboard allows me to see my desktop to change games, or settings in sim commander, look up stuff in forums, etc.
Any news on this? It's a very irritating bug - games really shouldn't be secretly messing around with the Steam VR settings
I've given up on playing RF2 until this is fixed. Too much of a hassle to follow behind it and re-enable the setting every time, or like most times I simply forget and only realize its been disabled when I try to use the dashboard while playing another vr title. I know there's been a lot going on, but its been a long time.
