Not sure if this was mentioned, but with rF2 moving definitely to DX11 it would be nice if S397 updated the system requirements on the Steam page (minimum, recommended for 1080p60fps, recommended for ultra/4K/VR).

Really like the new UI, personally i prefer a more grey skin as a neutral background but horses for courses, it's a huge step forward. One of the main issues i have with the current gui is there is no way to organise my content are there any plans to allow us to group content ie historic, favourites, GT3 etc?

Are those charts counting the AI cars, because in the servers they are appearing as players?

the charts count people (public profiles and Steam in online mode) playing the game, not playing the game racing online specifically. So yeah they are all humans.

I think the main complaint about the new UI, at least as shown in the Aug. Roadmap, was not so much the choice of colors or design, just that nothing seems to be different on how the UI works. The same choices as the old UI were shown, just in a slightly different arrangement. We were hoping for items like you mentioned, or the ability to see how many AI are selected when you start clicking on cars or mods. There MAY be many different elements in the final release, just that one screen looked awfully familiar.

In that same roadmap they state they have finally implemented the existing features into the ui,and gave us a picture showing us just this,it doesn't state that they won't be adding others though,so there's still hope

This is pretty strong statement claiming that DX11 outperforms DX9 with 50 fps which is ridiculous especially when you don`t have a clue how to benchmark DX9 vs DX11. ;)

I doubt that there is something special with your system it simply don`t outperform similar systems if user has the expertise to setup BIOS, OS and rF2 to optimized performance.
It is time to show your love to rFactor 2 community and post your benchmark here: https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/official-dx9-vs-dx11-performance-difference.55385/

For those of us in 3rd world countries, it's very much only due to cost. Even buying rFactor 2 for $85 back in the day was a hard bullet to bite, but I did it and I've been happy since 2012. I know of many people in FSR who couldn't be bothered with iRacing because the cost isn't justified, or just too much - and many Brazilians out there, for example.

Just because it seems easy for you and the people around you to afford something, or justify something - yes, for many of us, sim racing is huge but sometimes people are just taking the piss with their prices, which makes it unjustified - doesn't mean many others have the option. Before we buy stuff, we do calculations, and when I was considering rFactor 2 back in the day, I compared it to iRacing and saw it's less than a single year's sub on iRacing, to get rFactor 2 for life, not to mention free content. To me, it was a no-brainer, cost-wise.

Of course, I am not a fanboy of any sim, I gravitate to whatever offers me the most at a price I can afford. I would like to do both iRacing and rFactor 2 if I could, but at the moment rFactor 2 is very much the only one I can feel comfortable with.

I hope the new UI at least includes a better multiplayer matchmaker experience, IMO it's one of the most problematic things with current UI, with all the AI's counted as players, no way of knowing what actual cars are on server, etc. I haven't personally bothered with pickup online racing in rF2 since 2013/2014 (well, aside from the first day when a new car is released), it was more accessible back then than it is now. Back then not that many servers were locked and you could actually see what missing content you needed to download to join. Now online is more fragmented than ever. Those Steam chart numbers are also a symptom of this IMO. It may be that many people actually bought the McLaren DLC, but if they are not firing up rF2 regularly, it doesn't show in those charts.

Nope, not in my case at least, with low settings DX11 outperforms DX9 by quite a margin. Triples and multiview etc. I allways used low settings in rf2 bc racing in grids of 40 cars multiclass. TBH previously I was barely able to race even with low settings without stutters so that truth I don't face. :p

Of course if you turn all the stuff up or high the thing will bog down but on DX 11 low settings it looks quite a bit better than it did with low settings on DX9. I have as said never used much higher settings so not to bothered.

Not really to be honest. I mean I have an idea where you are heading at but not familiar with the quote and not 100% sure either.
I haven't done anyhting in BIOS and the OS itself. I do however care to setup the game I play as good as possible for my needs.

But anyways, the point I made was just to say it is not all that bad with dx11 as you make it seem strikingly.
If you really dig performance and FPS rates I am pretty sure even you can get where you want with your setup, in case you haven't updatet the monitors recently. :D You seriuosly can't expect this game to run as high FPS as some other sims, just no way this would work with same settings. At least I don't.

Did I mention that I am experiencing stutters or bad performance with DX9 or DX11?
I am not disgusting about stuttering game. Stuttering = frame times / latency between GPU's is a very basic way of looking at it. There are million reasons for stuttering and frame skipping and you need to have a good understanding of hardware architecture etc to get smooth game experience which you obviously was not able to solve with rF2 DX9.

This > DX9 vsDX11> FPS vs FPS. @patchedupdemon states that DX11 outperforms DX9 with same game settings with 50 FPS which is not the case.o_O

    Here is FPS I get with DX11 and triples : https://forum.studio-397.com/index....017-is-now-available.57398/page-4#post-910133 :p
Does it look like that I need your advise how to setup my BIOS, OS, monitors or rFactor 2?

Wow such a bad attitude, what is it with kids mower days, you're right there's nothing I can do about it if your system performs crap with dx11,all I can do is enjoy the better performance dx11 gives me,enjoy dx9 with your masterful bios gpu settings lol, they obviously work for you lmao

ok done the benchmarks using the supplied replay file in this thread https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/rfactor-2-dx11-benchmark.57463/.
benchmark done with the exact same settings, replay viewed in cockpit view with triple screens and replay set to full

    I5 4690k stock gtx 1060/6gb stock 16gb ram stock z97 mobo. 3x24" 1080p 60hz

im suprised by the results, has there been any updates to dx9 since dx11 beta was first released,dx9 is now on par with dx11 for me,when looking at fps,but still stutters and isnt as smooth.
when i said there was 50fps difference with dx9,i was referring to the last time i used it which was maybe a month or 2 before dx11 was first released, there has to be some updates to dx9 because nothing has changed on my system, which is good news for dx9 users.

i unsubbed from dx11 to do the dx9 benchmark, was there anything else i was supposed to do

i will do a benchmark comparing while im actually driving to,just incase theres a difference between replay and ingame performance, but from this benckmark,dx9 and dx11 the same.
