Great news DX9 will be supported at least until the end of the year. Hopefully, time enough to iron out fullscreen and stuttering problems.

Painting plugins should be documented urgently IMO. Before moving DX11 to default I would expect. Not very clear in the roadmap when this info will be available.

I got lost in the tech part.

Good to see the UI taking better advantage of player.JSON entries instead of having to edit the file manually, hoping the rest of the UI is the same. (# of individual sessions is what I'm referring too). Would be wonderful for the simple weather to include a RANDOM option pretty please!

Lots of technical babble I don't understand but was good reading to see the underlying components and how it all fits in.

I'm not overly fussed by the Tatuus but will no doubt give it a go, one big point is I would like to see them released in a better AI state than the Radical was from first release, that is comparable to humans at 100% and includes Talent Files regardless of whether the AI are made up or have real life naming.

    Thanks again Marcel

    The new UI looks beautiful.

    Loving the DX 11.

As for the Tatuus, glad you got another license, that's great, but they're already many versions of that type of open-wheeler out already. Hopefully it brings new customers which will help out R&D in the future. So that's a plus.

Great improvement about multiple sessions available, hopefully all individual settings can be adjusted for each session as well. A big problem with the current multi-session implementation in JSON is that you can't adjust practice 2 length other than by re-packing the track with a new GDB, and multi quali session by default uses some obscure rule where only half of the grid can take part in the first quali and half in the second.

I would suggest releasing UI into testable beta as soon as possible. You will get faster feedback and possible bugs will appear faster. It seems clear that test team is not being representative enough as fullscreen and stuttering issues evidence. For sure regular DX11 should be maintained.

I understand it will only be available for dx11 version as it was commented in previous roadmap.

I always hear "...years to come..." "beta", "next months..."

Still cant figure out how rFactor2 wanted to be competitive to other simracing-titles now and in the near future.
And: a beta for a new UI??? Really? I hoped for much more to come with the new UI, but seems that I can forget and bury all hopes...

This "Our plan is to make DX11 our new default at the end of September. We will keep the DX9 builds in sync until the end of the calendar year" means that DX11 is going to be standalone and it is great news. ;)

Yeah that Roadmap burried all my hopes of a revival of historical content. No mention of the long-delayed DX11 update of Spa '66, no mention of updates to the Eve, Spark, or either of the historical Brabhams (I won't even dare mention the rain AI bug). But I fully accept no single sim can or even should cater for one specific genre unless built from the ground up to simulate a historic season (like GPL). Any change is bound to result in winners and losers. Modern cars have made Assetto Corsa what it is today, so I understand their reasoning.

Just want to say that I'm loving the depth of this roadmap,it's refreshing to see so much info on the inner workings being divulged,I don't know if any other game I play that gives so much info about that.

Also to those complaining of beta,at least s397 are open about the the releases being beta, unlike most games that say beta is finished when they release, but we all know most stuff released by every game is still in a beta state, and they continue to use the player base as testers for said content/feature for years, but don't actually admit that.
    Cough cough iracing wink wink

    .
I don't think you have to give up all your hopes for the historical content. I believe you just need to be super patient.
Before the DX11 open beta. Marcel released a teasing image about the dx11 build which was this:
You can dig up the original image on discord. I'm sure it was posted by Marcel.

I guess since they went with the buy a single car or buy in bulk route. I'm guessing they will release themed packs. (They also emphasized the "aligned" content many times in the past.) What I want to say is I'm sure there will be a historical pack for rf2.

Almost right now, since I play rf2 90% of the time, answer your question?

Of course individually we can feel a bit disappointed when feature a b or c is not mentioned yet or delayed. But when looking at the bigger scope:

    - the best consumer racing simulation engine
    - new quality a-party content & commercialisation of the platform
    - deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and online interfaces
    - focus on delivering competitive elements to the platform
    - good connection with the simracing community

Based on recent progress, the plans presented and the current McLaren WBG competition I think that, with time, Studio 397 is uniquely positioned to deliver the best competitive simracing experience.
