The problem with your argumentation is, that a) the visual quality of both sims is in some cases a matter of personal preferences and pretty much a mute argument as both sims don't do the same thing and b) that Reiza basicly sold a rF1 mod (a very good one btw) using an engine that is proven to work since over a decade now, whereas ISI created their own very complex sim from ground up (with it's own issues ofcourse). If you can't see that difference then you should clearly take a deep breath and think about what you just wrote about other users here. ISI did all the hard work for rF1 and rF2 and Reiza basicly picked up from where the cummunity left the engine. I can easily post you a screenshot of a current rF2 build in comparison to AMS and I can garantuee you that AMS will not get away good for that matter. Anyway, I really like both sims, but the comparison is just apples and oranges. And the funny thing is that Reiza sells their game at the same prize as rF2 is sold - at high discount. So much about prizing vs. value. I also would like people to take of their rose tinted glasses: no sim on this market is finished or without flaws and I find things everywhere that I am waiting for since ages. I still get headaches when the AI in AMS just ignores me and tries to drive through me, a problem that is existemt much longer than we are playing rF2. We can have that conversation when Reiza have released their game and are finished with it, because that's a whole lotta different story. :)

I was always very anti-DLC and a lot of my admiration towards ISI was for the fact that they never incorporated a paid DLC system in their business model (& choose a one-time full subscription). This, bundled with rF2 physics & FFB made the package a huge attraction to me and my favourite sim by far.

However, I also watched it struggle & not move forward at the pace that its competitors did. Whilst they had different business models bringing in a constant revenue, whether from new users, DLC, subscriptions, etc, rf2 stagnated with slower updates & content releases. I still feel rF2 has a lot going for it in the physics, FFB, & real road technology, coupled with its AI, makes a great racing simulator. I also want to see bug fixes, performance improvements, leaderboards, populated online servers, & more content.

I think all the people that feel hard done by with the announcement of paid DLC for whatever reason need to come to the realisation that in modern world of game development, with the exceeding overhead costs (be it staff, offices, technology, subsistence, development time, licences, etc etc) the only feasible way to survive and run a profitable organisation (and not a charity) is by including a subscription based system, and in S397 model is by inviting existing users to pay for subscription to additional content.

    As a user you have the choice to support them if you perceive;

    (a) their products is worthy (do you enjoy/value rF2 as a game/simulator)
    (b) the paid content is of interest (cars/tracks)
    (c) their paid model and pricing is attractive to you (how individual items or packs are organized and priced)

If you stumble at point (a), then I think it is time to move on & luckily as sim racers we have a variety of options that we can choose to play. For those of us that perceive rF2 as a valuable product in the sea of racing games/sims eagerly await to see how points (b) & (c) will pan out and (I) will support them as by doing so believe it will contribute to further develop the core of the game with; fixes, improvements, & additions we'd collectively like to see happen.

I now accept that paid DLC is the only sustainable way forward for the game/sim that I enjoy & want to see improve.

For the record I'm a fanboy of the following Sims:
    AMS
    AC
    RRE
    iRacing
    Geoff Crammonds Grand Prix 2

Come back when you've got a proper argument and not childish insults :)

@Stan just a bit of good advice someone gave me a long while ago that I hope you can appreciate too.
Very often when we point our finger accusingly at people, you need to remember that you are pointing one finger at them & three at yourself. Meaning we often see in others what we don't like in ourselves. Food for thought.

@Magus This is the childish comment at it's best...
"if you say... you are... na!" (Magus, 12 years old and a good boy)
    Okay, enough for me...

The fanboy-argument is actually the thing that people come up with when they run out of arguments. It will surprise you but I play all of the sims, except iRacing and PCars. So much about that. If you can't live with the fact, that people don't share your opinion, you should look for a different enrvironment than the internet. I just hope you don't have too much social interaction in your RL.

@hitm4k3r Once again you don't understand... I say "facts" and you reply with "wishes and hopes"... please, grow up or simply avoid my posts if you are not able to understand!

I saw you commenting on the "fact", "that we would be playing rF3 beta, if ISI wasn't so greedy and slow". Yet I see no fact by yours where you can point me to a sim that was developed in two years time. I understand you very well, the thing I am trying to show you is that you don't have an answer to my question. Wich means that your "fact" is actually something that I call hopes and dreams. Have a good day.

I loved the news on rF2 the hole time. The hole time until today i read: our upcoming item store.

I hate Assetto and all other games for DLC cars. I NEVER buy DLCs! I dont like iracing because its too expansive, assetto for their fragmented servers where every 2nd uses another dlc you dont have. I never tried RRE because of this finance system. Why everyone must use this micro mini payment crap? Why not build a (real, not assetto style addon) BIG addon and sell it for 20 bugs? Why dont you keep the yearly 10-12€ payment? I mean, there are a lot of guys that payed 60-80€ for this game already.

You waste your time with new shiny UI, build like over a year around for dx11 and even dont reach the grafic level modern racing games have. All the other sims will soon reach the same level of features rF2 has for years because YOU dont extend them.

With the new UI what is really needed: A mouse over text on all the setup parts like assetto have. What this part of the car makes, what will happen on increase, what on decrease. Pos and neg. effects. There is much room to make it better then assetto! But this would make setup tuning of a car much easier and beginner friendly!

I am a day1 rF1 and rF2 buyer, i always saw rF ahead of all the other sims but my support will end with a bullshit dlc policy.

Fanboy lol,I'm hated on iracing for being the exact opposite, but hey when you have no more points to argue about aye.

Youre going to have a big shock when you have to move out from underneath your parents wings, and provide for yourself.

If you're paying more attention to who's saying something than what they're saying, you're doing it wrong.
