Test is done with 120 hz BenQ monitor and 10" 60 hz monitor. Test # 1: - Bios setup, Primary Graphics Adapter > PCI Express, IGPU Multi-Monitor > Disabled. - Windows Resolution > 1920x1080 @100 hz. - rFactor 2 video setup, Resolution > 1920x1080 > Resolution > 120hz, sync > Video, Mode > FullScreen. -In-game resolution > 100 fps. Test # 2: - Bios setup, Primary Graphics Adapter > PCI Express, IGPU Multi-Monitor > Enabled - Windows Resolution > 1920x1080 @120 hz. IGPU monitor > 1920x1080@60 hz - rFactor 2 video setup, Video > Nvidia Geoforge GTX 1080Ti, Resolution > 120 hz, sync > Video, Mode > FullScreen - In game resolution > 60 fps. My conclusion is that full screen in single monitor is not working. Factor 2 is running in windowed mode when full screen is selected. DX11 has also 20% decrease of performance vs DX9 with latest Beta build.
Yes - I've seen a similar problem: I have a 1440p monitor. I recently tried to run rF2 DX11 Beta at 1080p to increase the frame rate. I couldn't get it to run in fullscreen. I tried settings in the NVidia control panel to change the Scaling Mode (Adjust desktop size and position). This works in other racing sims, but rf2 still runs in windowed mode. The workaround I found was to change the desktop resolution to 1080p and then run rF2 at 1080p.
Since @Ari Antero opened a couple posts on these issues I've been testing myself out of curiosity. @Richard729, as for using a different rF2 resolution than the Windows resolution, I tested this also on my rig. I have both a triple screen setup and a single ultrawide. On my single screen the windows resolution is 3440x1440 and with rF2 set the same I get an average of 90 FPS running Toban/Nissan GT500. I then changed rF2 to 1920x1080 which resulted in an average FPS of around 150 - of course it looked like crap (stretched) at this resolution on an 3440x1440 designed monitor but it did work to increase my FPS. I didn't try any "Scaling Mode".
The only problem DX9 fullscreen has is alt+tab. My post #1 is related only to DX11 . I don`t think we should look workarounds to DX11 fullscreen bug and non working sync both are old news from may. There are many threads in technical forums which are related to my post #1. I find it strange that S397 has not spotted this bug and done anything with it ASP.
Just because the Build ID changes it doesn't always mean an actual Build was released, as S397 have said in the past Build numbers change for Car/Track releases as well, this change was for the Radical.
I can take any DX 11 build you like and fullscreen don`t work and it has been like that from the release of first DX11 Beta. I can read build notes. 27/06/2017 Build ID : 1915820 - VR : Improved UI and loading screen - Performance improvements - Improved multiview gizmo - Fixed reflections displaying wrong dynamic objects - Improved font system cache
Hi Ari, don't know whether this is related to your issue, but I guess so: https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/succesfull-reproduction-of-the-fullscreen-isue.56754/
Yes it is related and to this too : https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/21-06-2017-build-id-1905199-no-full-screen.56350/
Issue is solved, 6/07/2017 Build ID : 1941092 Added support for mulit-gpus and multi-monitor selection, available via drop downs in Laucher config. Well done S397
