There seem to be issue with GPU loads and third party content . If GPU load is higher then 40% game i stuttering a lot and GPU load is never higher then 70%. GPU load lower then 40% is smooth and stutter free :(
ISI/S397 content seem not to have same issue.

Test day today. I have updated the PC to a I5 7600k but the results are not very satisfactory ... Performance is still far below the DX9 version.

Before changing the CPU I have done some tests and last build has brought a significant loss of performance in my old system.

CPU switching has brought a huge increase in FPS in DX11.

The improvement in DX9 is very small.

True disappointment has come when comparing the DX9 and DX11 versions with the new CPU. Average is 20FPS lower in DX11 version.

FPS is down by a further 5% in build 1905835 compared to the build of last week in all scenarios that I measured. This is consistent with the graphs of @Mulero , the DX11 build was roughly 10-15% behind DX9 and is now 15-20%.

Finally the performance is similar to the version dx9. Great work guys. It would be nice to be able to test with old CPU, but it is no longer possible.

The lighter the load, the better for fps. Build 1868941 has been best for my triple screens with no PPE enabled.

settings: Level 4 AA, PPE=off, resolution 5760x1080 multiview, no sync, aggressive threads=off
system: single GTX 1080, 8 GB VRAM; i7-4770 @3.4 GHz, 32 GB RAM
    view: cockpit camera
    weather: overcast

    Atlanta Motorsports Park, Cobra
DX9, Avg 88 fps, Min 75 fps, Max 101 fps
    Build 1915820, Avg 85 fps (-3%), Min 74 fps (-1%), Max 98 fps (-3%)

    Palm Beach, Cobra
DX9, Avg 109 fps, Min 100 fps, Max 122 fps
    Build 1915820, Avg 108 fps (-1%), Min 99 fps (-1%), Max 124 fps (+2%)

it must be something at my end , I did switch off gamer mode in windows 10

I'll turn it back on as now I'm starting to think its not the new build that responsible for a sudden less of PC performance

Maybe a plugin? Crewchief's shared memory plugin cause stuttering for me..

You are likely getting worse results in DX11 because of the high AA level. DX11 AA implementation is very heavy, I wouldn't recommend using anything higher than x1 or x2 at the moment. x5 in DX11 basically corresponds to x15 in DX9 in terms of image quality.

Thanks. I try this. But 4thworld wrote this: Use same graphics settings... (in the first comment)

Umm yeah. However, for your gpu, this level of AA is way overkill in both versions.

Don't know about you guys but rf2 in dx11 at the moment is unplayable to me. I have huge frame drops and stuttering to a point that ruins the gameplay completely. Not even in official content is playable. I didn't try a session alone but whats the point in that? I'm using 5760*1080 in multiview with a 980ti aggressive thread off(tried on, same results).
Example, in Atlanta MP i have 40 something fps on the pits and on the rest of th track 60 something with a lot of stutering and some dips to the 50's.
Tried vsync same stuttering and frame drops.
I used to get a lot more fps than i'm getting right now.

5760 x 1080 is a massive resolution, drop it down + reduce some settings

@demerzel - if you are sure of this, and have some time for experiments, feel free to PM me. I am performance freak, and impacting rF2 smoothness is the last thing I want. I did profile (measured) my plugin - it takes less than 0.04% of game CPU time with maxed out grids, and I've not noticed any FPS drop on my old CPU. Also, good news is that new version of the plugin will run smoother (less spikes), but again, at 0.04% process time usage is close to noise boundary, I fail to imagine it having any effect on the game. But of course, joys of PC is that there's so many different hardware and software combinations, so you never know.

For Crew Chief itself, make sure you update to the latest version (we made improvements) and make sure "load sounds on startup" is checked. Lastly, you can restrict CC to certain CPU by passing param, for example cpu4 (see readme).

I've lowered settings back to previous , performance is still way way better than first VR release & everything looks nice

Think I'll stop rising settings in future even on a good optimisation update

I've not noticed anything with Crewchief to indicate it's a resource problem. I've run RF2 with it and without it and I don't see a difference. And I'm sure there's lots of other background tasks running that have worse impact than CC.
