Thanks for this release, it performs and drives rather well on my old system

One question though, the chicanes are incredibly bumpy with the GP3 mod, is this intentional?
Also there is a huge bump in front of the hairpin, I'm not sure this exists in real life :p

    edit:
well that was two questions :p

    edit2:
onboard lap of an even stiffer car:

Enjoying this track. Just one query though, is there and issue with the fly emirates sign on the right hand side on the last chicane (on wall of champions). When I do a night race and have headlights on it it seems to flicker, have not noticed this with other signs on the circuit and am unsure if it is a bug or just the headlights and quick change of direction.

Hi wgeuze, thanks for the feedback:

The Montreal track has always been pretty bumpy. In the video you've put, look at the helmet of the driver, don't look at the car. It is where you will appreciate the bumps.

The original track (Montreal 2008) from which it was converted, had many more bumps, we reduced it enough, but not completely because we think that in real life it is bumpy. Obviously it is not accurate, because we have never driven there, so any information about it that can help improve the track will be welcomed.

Another important thing to keep in mind is that this video is from this year (2017). We do not know what improvements may have been made to it. Our version is based on the 2013 year and in the videos that we have been able to see, we have always think that it is quite bumpy, but if its necessary, we are open to improvements in future updates.

    Regards.

Sure I agree that this track is a bit bumpy, as I consider it a street circuit as well. However, when you listen to the RPM's they sound pretty smooth and steady across those bumpy bits. With the GP3, a less stiff car, you can hear the RPM's jump and even the car is losing adhesion with the road surface. When looking at the video above, you can see that there are certain places on tracks where you do expect bumps, and that is in the heavy braking zones :) Those are actually bumpier than the chicanes themselves because of the loads the cars put on the road surface.

That is a good thing you did though, many bumps from converted tracks are not intended to be modelled bumps, but often are the unwanted result of low poly road geometry. Indeed, any person who was driven there and comes forward would be nice :p

This video is from 2013, although in the rain, you can still see and hear differences between the smoother chicanes, and bumpier braking zones.

This one is clearer. Also funny, you can already see the newer patches of tarmac in the 'problematic' chicanes where they resurfaced parts of the road. Hmmm, coincidence?

Also a fun observation, the braking zone for the last chicane, is noticably less bumpy in the 2013 season, in comparison with the current state of the track in 2017.

    Thanks for your reply :)

We will analyze all this well and seek even more information if it's possible to improve the track.

    Thanks again for feedback.

Sadly, our league season is drawing to a close... On the other hand, if you need a tester with a low-end pc, let me know, I'll have some time on my hands again :)

Does it mean that you have more DX11 tracks that you are not going to publish?

We began to adapt our tracks to DX11 from Barcelona (when we had the first modding info).
The tracks are for the use of the members of our web and at the moment we don't have planned to release a public trackpack, as we did in the past.
We have been working very hard in the trackpack, and it's a gift for the people who are supporting the web, servers, hotlaps system (hlssim, fantastic), etc.

I have uploaded an update for this track (2.09).

For some reason the change notes have not been recorded (Steam should improve this). It Are these:

    - New lighting system.
    - Puddles map.
    - High luminance semaphores.
    - Some small improvements and additional corrections.

    Regards.
