    Now on Portugal Track i get 61 fps steady, even on Sao Paulo...unlike before (R9380 4 GB 1920x1080)

    just want to say whatever happened last build has gone!! round Portugal - 15 civic maxed out gfx AA and PP. didn't drop a frame from 60FPS. The stuttering on the last corner and fps drops with particles gone. wow thx the smoothest rf2 has even been. and looks f-ing phenomenal!!!!!

    ooohh getting slight fps drops at Quebec- at night its worse. I can run 30 ai at Portugal/ 20 Ai FR3.5 at palm beach ..solid 60!

    The karts (19ai) on track dropping the fps to mid 40s. 15 Ai I can get around 60dps. I take ot its the karts more than the track being fps hungry?

    Oh, so the 1080 is getting bottlenecked by the CPU! So instead of swaping from RX480 to GTX 1080 the CPU should be swapped for something better?

    Big improvement for me with this build. Increased fps, smoother gameplay. Can run at night now. Can turn PP on now. I usually use 17 AI as well. Shadows medium. Particles on. There are times I'm getting over 100 fps. This is with an Athlon dual core and a GTX460. Really pleased. Concerned the next update will take this performance increase away though.

    Quick - turn off auto updates on rF2 and listen to what others say when there's a new update. :D

    I know that feeling having been involved in many betas/EA over the years. Good update comes and then the next one completely craps on it, *grumpy face*, lol.

    AFAIK you can't disable updates in Steam, even if you turn it off you are still required to update before you can play the game the next time.
    From my testing the DX11 build uses less CPU than DX9, people like @argo0 can run this game with a dual core Athlon even. Especially if you run VR or triples the CPU becomes even less of a bottleneck, I would say it's irrelevant to 99% of users unless you start adding huge numbers of AI cars (like 40+, but your GPU would probably not handle that anyway).

    Using an Intel Core i3 or i5 CPU rather than an AMD can make the difference between 20 and 40 frames per second. Intel wins 9 times out of 10 in most purely gaming benchmarks as AMD cannot match its per-core performance.

    Does anyone know the graphics setting with an I7 processor and a GTX1080 in VR?

    Sure, in some games you can see a difference, but the higher resolution you go, the less the CPU matters. In rF2 I have yet to see a single benchmark showing that the CPU affects FPS. I overclocked my CPU 20%, it made no difference to anything in rF2. I think the only benefits you get from CPU is that you can add huge numbers of AI cars and the physics won't run out of real time. But feel free to prove me wrong, everyone can overclock their CPU and see the difference it makes.

    You used 20 ai cars for your test?
    Perhaps my cpu is the bottleneck, according to userbenchmark the memory i'm using is quite bad too and i don't know why.
    The GC seems to works fine, according to userbenchmark too.

    oups just see that the memory has a bad clock. I did a bios reset (when i installed the gtx) and didn't pay attention to that, by the way the fx8320 can't use 2133mhz ram which explains why...

    Only 18 fps for the replay, it sure works worst than the rx480.
    Hopefully it works better with PCars (than the RX480) which means that it does not come from the GC.

    By the way the avg value changes very fast, the max avg value i can get is 59 fps.

    I actually have 29 Ai and me so 30 cars but only have 20 cars visible . my ram is a mix of 2 4Gb and one 8 Gb . But apparently at your resolution the CPU can be a bottleneck as you move to higher resolutions the CPU isn't as crucial . My I5 might also bottleneck my 1070 at 1080p but at 3840x2160 my GPU still seems to have a bit of room sitting at 85% thanks to v-sync and CPU is usually around 50% .

    Press enter in replays to get fullscreen mode, that should get your FPS up. There is a bug where almost all menu elements slow FPS down, I hope it gets fixed soon, because it affects every GPU.

    What exactly is contained in the "special effects" setting, and in "soft particles" setting?

    I thought Soft Particles was only the extra texture layer with "rubber chunks" that emerge, but it must be something more because i noticed (before in DX9) that performance would be bad when it was on when just rolling out - alone - from the pits. If it was rubber chunks that come out after several laps then you would think it had no impact on a newly loaded track. So im thinking it must contain some other effects. It could also be better now. Im not sure. I still have a little worse performance in DX11 compared to DX9 on triples.
