Hello all, I think the FR3.5 is by far the best looking car in rFactor2. I think it isn't even DX11 optimized. Is it? In addition to that, i have very good FPS with this car . The best FPS i have with 20/30 cars in front of me. Could it be possible to explore why this car is so good and replicate its properties for other cars? Thanks studio 397 for your good work.
Completely agree, totally surprised that the FR3.5 looks so good, as it hasn't been DX11 optimised. For me it looks better than the optimised GT500
That's true. Tbh I'm not the biggest fan of open wheel race cars but I really enjoy to drive these cars and watch the replay.
This is a direct screen from my pc. All in full except for post process and shadows in high. I think the way the light and shadows react on the body is very adequate.
Let's see if OP can update the picture with latest version to check differences. A comparative closer screenshot where metal parts can be better seen would be appreciated.
Because good textures and good model >_> Civic, Camaro, Cobra, Dallara (and some other cars) and newer stuff from s397 are looking great too (NSX and road Corvette looks great too, but not inside). I wish all official cars looked like them, but cars like gt2 corvette needs to be redone to look great (But from long distances it looks good)...
GT500 is older car model I think, already featured in previews in 2013. Many of the ISI car models were built years ago or even before the rF2 beta was out, so that's most likely why they look worse. The DX11 optimizations are so small it's hard to even notice a difference, it's just mostly about making the cars compliant with post FX.
the fr3.5 wasone of the test cars for closed beta.. it was dx11'd a few months ago and so i suspect updated with the open beta files. S397 also have put it up seperately.
Anyone notice any differences with this car since the latest update? cockpit shades seem duller, while my FFB feels noticeably different compared to how it felt yesterday pre-update.
Yep look here Formula Renault 3.5 Physics changelog: New CPM Tires Minor reduction in tyre load sens. Rears have a slightly wider peak slip at lower loads. Improved AI correlation Minor brakes tweak. Force Feedback is now stronger. Engine smoke emission location improved.
