Was it intentional to have the headlights of other cars not as bright in the virtual mirrors? While using the virtual mirrors in cockpit view I noticed the opponent headlights look much better in the real mirrors. Personally not a big deal, I was just curious. I thought it might be a design decision for people using virtual mirrors while using an outside view.

I want to simulate the reality and the white balance is much to cold on this screenshots too. I donĀ“t know if your TV is calibrated to 6500k white balance or if the used cams of the broadcast, that were used had a correct setup. Maybe most people are used to see a wrong white balance in the time of LCD TV, which are set to vivid color styles to impress the customers to buy it.

Maybe this is simply because you're sitting on the right side of the car, and the engine is located to your front left in the center of the car?
I notice this too when switching between left- and right-handed touring cars.

Any news regarding the issue of full screen mode not scaling to fit the display with some machines?
Apparently it is related to the game not correctly recognizing the GPU. VideoGUID value is different from dx9 config.ini.

Thanks for saying something about this issue.

For devmode this is actually big issue. If you get an error during track loading you need to hard reset your pc because there is no way to get to the ok button on the error message popup because rf2 always puts itself over it. You can't even control-alt-del out of rf2 for the same reason. I'd guess if you can run the game in windowed mode this issue disappears but a texture or mesh failing to load should not require full reboot. Not to mention windowed mode is bad for performance. For devmode I'd guess it could be acceptable but personally I find this annoying.

Also the car template seems to be in .max format. Meaning it is useless for everybody who is not using the 2012 plugin for 3dsmax. I hope this is just an oversight and not a sign that gjed is to be dropped. Anyways, to support other platforms and gjed it should be simple to provide that same .max file in .fbx format (maybe even with .gmenv file) would be great.

Also pressing alt-enter (windows keyboard shortcut to alter between fullscreen and windowed) causes rf2 to crash.

Does AMD cpu's take a hit with DX11 or is it the same as DX9 and only GPU is affected?

I have a massive performance improvement with tonights build. Gone from 30 fps to over 100fps on most tracks. Depth of field seems to be turned down compared to the initial release but at least now its playable. Nice to see such quick progress!

The sound offset in cockpit was the problem with the old version, it was acknowledged and fixed long ago. I think you still don't have the latest v1.4 active or an older version is conflicting with it, which you may need to uninstall first. It is now entirely symmetric when I compared left and right side on my headset.

Err... Silverstone was built at a time when the majority still had a GPU with 1 GB VRAM. It will always look worse than a track built in 2017 when GPUs have 2/4/8 GB configurations, no matter how many DX11 effects you add above it. The art remains old. Same with cars such as Corvette C6.R when you compare it with something newer like USF, huge difference in cockpit art.

I drove this car for a couple of hours last night and never had such issues.

Is this game really running in DirectX 11 or is it DirectX 9.0c Or is this another bug readout?
I've also noticed this on other people who have also posted screen shots of their rFactor 2 launcher.
An answer would be nice before conspiracy theory kicks in.

There is no conspiracy theory as people that were in doubt simply used MSI Afterburner to check the DX version.... I suggest you do the same, it's pretty quick as you can see as soon as the game starts

@Will Mazeo, I don't have to use a third party software to tell me what drivers I have installed on my system, I have the latest DirectX 11 drivers installed both system and graphics, because I am currently in the Quake Champions Closed Beta, and as you can see I have also included the Windows DirectX Diagnostic Tool read out, which tells you that my video card and system drivers are DirectX 11, it would be helpful, if a developer would clear this up, having a on screen text print out that says DirectX 11 in game, when the launcher clearly says DirectX 9.0c, isn't going to make me think anything different, again I would like a Developer to clarify this.

MSI Afterburner won't tell what is installed in your system, it will show you what rF2 (or any game) is using. If you load DX9, fps counter will be D3D9, if DX11 will be D3D11 in your screen. DXDiag only shows the most recent DX version you have (in my case DX12), you do have 9 and 10 in your PC anyway, probably 7 and 8 are there too lol
Dude that is coding forgot to manually type DX11 in a launcher text, conspiracy theory confirmed

@Will Mazeo, I am not being a bitch, when I said I'm not willing to use MSI Afterburner, my video card is a ASUS Strix, which came with it's own monitoring software, I don't want to or need to install another one, I have also seen this DirectX 9.0c read out on other people's rFactor 2 launcher who clearly have different video cards to me, this is getting confusing, as the launcher, not only reads incorrect video card memory, system memory, and now incorrect DirectX, you're just a user like me and everyone else, and it would be great if a developer could put my mind at rest as to what is going on, thank you.

@Will Mazeo, well I guess that is the sort of reply I would expect from you, I'll logout, and await to see what someone in the know, preferably a developer has got to say, incorrect system memory information, incorrect video card memory information and now incorrect DirectX information, have a great night, I'm not fully convinced now.

I couldn't care less if it was DirectX 7 as long as we see improvement both visually and in performance.

I think you've rather missed the part where other people have verified Dx11 using afterburner (meaning you don't have to). Also - why on earth would S397 release a dx11 beta and then not use dx11? Does that seem more likely to you than that the config info code in the game hasn't been updated to recognise dx11?

Maybe the fact that trackmap, which uses a d3d9.dll to inject into dx9, crashes the game, helps convince you?

FX 8320 clocked at 4ghz, AMD RX480 8GB, 8GB RAM, Windows 10 creator update in game mode.
With the last beta update, 1080p, AA5, after one lap, 20 cars on track and displayed, silverstone, formula ISI 2012. Check the min and average fps, don't pay attention to the max.

    Settings
    [IMG]

    PP None
    [IMG]

    PP Medium
    [IMG]

    PP Ultra

It changes a lot depending on the car. Lower result with the corvette and again lower with the GT500.

56 fps on the grid with DX11 and 63 with DX9, no pp.
    DX9 is still faster.
