I think i might just buy a DK2 to try the VR thing out.
They are around £100 on ebay. If i dont get on with it, its not uch to lose.

If i really like it, ill buy a better VR headset

 

whatever you do don't use your experience with a DK2 make or break your decision about whether VR has a future or not. I have a DK2 which I shall be using on Monday (all being well). While it is a VR headset, think of it more as a proof of concept rather than what VR is or will/can be. Also, the DK2 can leave people more susceptible to motion sickness due to lower FPS. If you feel queasy at any stage stop! rest and try again the next day. Don't try and 'Man up', you'll seriously regret it. If you can get over the DK2's failings it's actually a very functional headset until the funds are gathered for something better.

With all that said, even though the DK2 is a good proof of concept, that concept is still very powerful. Such is the effect of VR.

 

What time tomorrow is the update pushed to Steam ? , and any idea how big ?

Sometime afternoon CEST, update alone? Shouldn't be that huge but we are getting updates to content too. Depends on which content and how many of them are going to be updated. I would safely assume that few gigs total. But don't take my educated guess as certainty.

the lighting looks good, thats gonna be the main difference, lighting and shaders, get some texture upgrades and it look completely up to date

 

Few bugs got into this build that he got. Like lack of undercar shadows at night.

 

There never were any, so doubt this is a bug.

 

That is not a good video to show rfactor2 DX11 update (my opinion, but I don't have rF2 DX11 beta). The missing undercar shadow is a bug confirmed at discord chat. Bug got fixed already. But it looks like anti-aliasing was switched completely off! -> That can't look good.

 

Well in final DX11 build they should be because it was fixed some time ago.

YouTube really doesn't do rfactor2 justice

Shame we can't delete the whole lot and start again with YouTube decent settings what ever they are.

 

They already have dropped. And plus open source and I haven't looked on kijij (used).
