  1. Nope, it has to do with how you set up the alpha channel @steviejb can tell you more, i know he can do it on the URD cars ;)

    @F1Aussie You can achieve chrome with standard shaders with the right material settings, have a look at this car.

    It is already possible to get a car skin to have chrome effects if the car shader is set up for that. Personally I did not like it because if you make chrome possible then the usable range for normal paint reflectivity of the alpha layer of the skin becomes really narrow which makes it difficult to adjust the reflectivity of the paint when you don't want chrome. Really tiny changes make a skin too matte or reflective.

    Oooh now you're teasing us lol.
    The reality is that people want to be spoon fed as much convenience as possible,basically pick up and play,I fear if it is just leagues that run once or twice a day,that won't bring many here,official races every hr or two is a good way to compete with iracing.

    I know it's early steps etc,so maybe something for the future,rf2 has a more complete simulation experience than iracing,iracing in comparison is quite static and feeling stale,you could rule the sim genre with 24hr events due to your weather systems.
    I'm so excited for the future of rf2,thank you for taking this sim under your wing

    Another update reflecting very positive progress! Keep up the great work. This new level of communication is great!

    I too would be interested in hearing a road map update on older vehicle licenses, in particular the 1968 Indy Eagle(lots of options), Indy Reynard and the Bentley. Will they ever be pursued, or can we expect alternatives based on newly arising opportunities?

    Marcel, can you comment if any kind of encouragement will help influence the priority list?

    I have not seen chrome in rf2 before, raceroom does it well so I just assumed rf2 would too

    Looks Good but what's that big chrome ball above it ? i had that chasing some Flat 6 cars around in my version .

    YAY , this is going to be (already is ) the greatest Sim ever .
    Thank You for all the work going on in the backgroud , really cant wait for "The Big Update".

    The DX11 screen looks very blue and the UI looks like an Assetto Corsa menu. :D

    The other screens look good. I like the DW11 onboard one. That's the money shot from this roadmap update.

    Can't wait for all the cool stuff to arrive. Keep it up!

    What is not clear to me, will the first implementation of VR support be still released end of Q1?

    For me, the DX9 vs DX11 shots are just marketing. The differences aren't bigger than all the times ISI was editing their HDR settings previously.
    And the NOLA start tower screen comparison shots weren't even taken at the same time of the day, the shadows are different.

    People need to realise that we aren't going to see a huge improvement with the initial implementation of dx11,it will take a year at least after implementation to really see the fruits dx11 really has to offer,the secs may not have used that api before,so it may take time for them to get to know what can be done.
    Iracing has had dx11 for the best part of 6months I think,and nothing has changed yet,also they aren't making it compatible with dx9,they are dumping dx9,studio 397 aren't so it's twice the work load,in therory.

    I'm still worried about the vanilla content,it pales compared to other sims,and it's widely know that mods vary so much that it's off putting to some.
    Exciting time s for sure,but cohesion is what's needed more than sparkles in my opinion

    DX11's biggest stand out straight up surely will be the performance gains from having a better shadow system and that should allow for higher settings to be used ( 8x sparse grid for me hopefully ) and this will give a rather large visual improvement .

    Having the screens taken at different times is a little odd ?

    Nice the S397 are showing screens of the update but is there any chance of some videos of it in action ??
