Well some people here still seem to think that everythings ok with rF2, or that when they are satisfied with rF2 everybody else
have to be the same opinion.
People like you should finally accept that most people are NOT satisfied with rF2!

Otherwise the situation would be another and we have not to discuss this here! Not?

I know people have different opinions about rF2.... I am also aware that there are some that think rF2 is lacking and they will focus on what it DOESN'T have. I prefer to look at what it DOES have and anything else is a bonus. Whether you think that kind of outlook is rose tinted then so be it. Everything doesn't have to be doom and gloom all the time. Where is the fun in that?

I do accept some aren't satisfied. But if someone looks like they are just whining for whinings sake, then I will call them out on that stupid behaviour.

Your joking! Right? Just another serial box build!
I really hope this isn't the first paid DLC and it's in with the NOLA track. I want the track. Not the constant crap cars!

you dont seem to understand what the situation here is. the reality is that this sim has one foot in the grave allready.
studio 397 takin over is an attemp to get some life to the sim. we are beyond the point where satisfaction or dissatisfaction, yours or mine means anything ok?

This is a second chance, and there will be no third, no matter how much some people love the game. ok?
that means that THIS time they have to get it right, this is absolutely the last chance, or it's game over for rF2.
In the end it's the developement and business decisions that will make it to succeed or fail.

So critisism at this point, stage 1 in operation cpr for rf2, is totally justified. it's nothing personal, i dont even care enough for it to be personal. but i would love to see this game get back on it's feet yeah?
And from the experience that i have gotten these years playing these games im just giving my 2 cents to contribute to this rescue mission.

Did i come out blunt? yeah maybe but that just me. I choose to express myself in that manner in this world of butthurt people nowdays, where everything has to be sugarcoated to avoid hurting someones feelings, and i think that is counterproductive to the cause, to any cause for that matter.
so i choose to be blunt. i know it raises negative toughts in some, but hey, at least it does something.
im sure your satisfied, glass half full kinda attitude serves some purpose, i just dont see it, not in business, not in this situation. just like you dont see mine.

besides, after i bluntly(!) pointed out that the motion blur and dof are not in top priority in graphics overhaul imo, it allready got other people to express their opinion about it.
so at least i can say, thats my contribution to the rescue mission. that is something, even as little as it is, it's still something.
what is your contribution??? being cheerful and satisfied? pointing out misbehaviour of other forum members?
you think that will help developing this game somehow??
just look how well it served the the previous regime....

    anyways

    Merry christmas to all.

    Kelju out.

Sure they did. If they say they are working on something then it sounds like a promise to me. Weather haven't been improved for ages and there definitely were more promised than we have now. (standing water for example)

Some of you clearly like to live in denial. I agree on everything that Kelju K said. VEC represents very marginal group (though big in rf2 circles) of all the simracers rf2 has or could have. There are still very few leagues that could be called successful besides VEC. I can't invest enough time into this game to consider VEC.

I believe the future of simracing in general will be good whether or not rf2 succeeds from now on. I just hope they do because I still enjoy it very much when there are people to race with. That is why it is important to go forward, not everyone will stick around as long as I do if promises are broken. Just my few cents.

Well, VEC is the "flag ship" series of SimRacing.Club, which also offer other series - shorter races, other cars.

@Marcel Offermans Will the time of today's release be similar to the ones in the past or will we see a different time? Thought about that because rf2's home isn't Ann Arbor anymore but the Netherlands...

"Sure they did" WHERE? The word Promise is a very strong word in the English language and to use it because "it sounds" like a promise is totally incorrect and you're simply trying to force something that isn't there.
I totally accept that the language barrier for some people may trick them to believing the word Promise is valid, but not for native English speakers, sorry.

I'm certainly not in denial, I know ISI showed us screens and spoke of stuff we never unfortunately got, but as far as I'm concerned I know that development plans change, properties change, people change and I personally don't get bent backwards when things don't happen...That's life!

Do I wish ISI did more? Of course I do, but I'm happy enough with the product and looking forward to the future without the glass half empty attitude that belittles this community.

We are targeting a time of around 17h CET for the release, but we're coordinating things with Valve so I can't give an exact time.

Post in the technical support forum, and give lots more information. Even if you get any help in this thread it will be lost among the rest of the discussion.

I only play rFactor 2 and before that, I only played rFactor. In my opinion is the best Simulator, no doubt and with more possibilities for modding. For this reason, it is ideal for leagues and communities. I think this game is made for that (perhaps unwittingly). Most of the action is in the communities in which you have to register and (probably) pay for use de server and participate. It is the most beautiful and exciting game mode, in my opinion.

If you like to enter and run occasionally without complications, this is probably not the best game for you, for that goal you have iRacing, though with much lower levels of simulation, you enter and run, simple. But if you like run a complete Championship, always with the same people, with a more personal and close treatment, with time and races to understand the car and improve (the closest thing to real life, ultimately), rFactor 2 is without a doubt the best of the best.

Perhaps It may seem dead if you occasionally go to search online races, but if you are looking for Championships there is much life out there.

To finish, a little council to the new owners, listen to the leagues, we spent much time with the game, we know it very well and we know where there are errors (it exist and some are important), you not will find best testers...and free.

    Regards.

I'll stick with my glass half full and positive attitude. The purpose it serves? It's better than being consumed by the negative and focusing on what I don't have. There is more to life than this game.

rFactor 2 hasn't died for me as I don't have lofty expectations for anyone to meet. If things develop then good, if they don't then good... not gonna "cry over spilled milk". Studio 397 will develop the game no matter what I say, so it makes no difference.

Many of you just seem to want something so badly to fail so you can stand there and say "I told you so".

Personally I prefer an on-line system as iracing that a championship with a league, to be able to be free to make a race without constraint when I want it and has the hour when I want it is which is made the strength of iracing and which attracts people 3k simracer of average!
A sim ultra competitive, organized well, without any constraint!
A lot of people prefers ffb/physical of rf2 but go on Iracing to have serious races and organized without caring besides and the evolutionary system of licence gives the impression in people to evolve in a career it is very addicting I like much more rf2 that iracing but for the on-line it is necessary to go to their senses it is the only solution for multi viable and attractive

    sorry for trad!
