Breaking news, that pack (C7R) included other 9 cars (no URD) and Norschleife.

I said a Reiza-style beta, not what ISI did in the early days of rF2. It has been working extremely well for AMS, but it only works if the developer is highly responsive and committed to lots of small, rapid updates.

Anyone can think what they want. I just wanted to arise something that IMO is not very honest. Persuading a customer to go to lifetime offering a slight increase in price wrt to renewing annual subscription, a few months before removing online yearly suscriptions (and actually lifetime concept) doesn't simply seem right. Especiallly since that specific deal was not being offered publicly but by email asking not to publish price (which I haven't) because it was a special offer being done to them individually based on their customer history. I am aware of that offer being done to every of the drivers in our league that were in the same situation then.

I am personally unaffected by it since I have had a lifetime license from the very first day rF2 was commercialized.

However, I thought it would be fair that these people were compensated in some way if it was just an "unlucky" situation. Not only they were offered to renew an online yearly license prior to their former license was expired, they also were offered lifetime for a suspiciously low increase. I wanted to make sure that the new owners are aware of the situation. I really cannot know if they had something to do with this or was something in ISIs side.

Mine may of been in Sterling come to think of it (e-mail claims USD though), either way my point remains valid, a lot cheaper than following a franchise gaming platform especially when said franchise sells 1000x more than RF2 ;)

    rFactor 2 Liftetime: 1x 31,99 USD :p

The price is basicly the worst argument you can come up with in that discussion, because it is not stable debending on when and where you buy the game. I don't know what people think, but nobody is holding a gun against their head and forces them to buy anything, especialy not for the highest possible price. Capitalism is never fair for everybody so get over it.

Yet I see that argument again and again, by people who are happy to rent virtual cars and tracks in iRacing for hundreds of dollars, or who are happy to pay buckloads of money for DLCs with horrendous pricing. I bought AC for 29,99 and some of the DLCs wich makes the price much higher than rF2 actually. But it was my personal decision so I don't complain. You are the person who has the responsibility when you hit the buy-button. ;)

Actually I bought the game on the main rF2 homepage... btw where did you see my complaints? That was my first comment in this thread. But if we are here: I can count the times I played online with rF2 literally on one hand... back then when I bought the game I was a total newbie to the simracing genre and I had no idea about rF2 casual online racing is dead. I bought the lifetime because I thought I can race it.
Meanwhile at iR there was a time I was racing almost every day for months...

Now for an actual complaint: obviously I don't mind making the online access free to everyone, about 2 years ago I had a chitchat about this on the ISI forum (the thread name was sthing like "why rF2 online racing is dead" or sthing similar), and there I suggested free online access with paid DLC content (otherwise the game will be dead in a short time, who would have known...?) and I was the bad guy in that conversation, that tells sthing about this environment.
But I think it would be wise to compensate the lifetime users with something, at least it would be wise to think about them for a minute just because it seems they are completely forgotten at this moment. rF2 T-shirt or some discount or sthing. Not that I need it but it's just me. Some may say if you treat me like this next time I think twice before I give my money to you.

So the content in Rf2 is laughable respect to the other major sims and bringing cars we already own, with no opponents to run against, won't help in any way.

I have a lowly DK2 but would still gladly take one for the team in regards to VR testing. 1 'VR vomit comet' to go please.

RE: Motion blur on external cameras:

I thought motion blur is a great effect for rims and tires.... so it would be good for internal cam's aswell. I hope we can get rid of a lot of textures and just use the motion blur effect instead. *fingerscrossed*

ok, good news, but about the historic problem of rf2 nothing not even on the horizon... I don't understand why what the users ask since the day 1 ( or maybe day 2..) is almost not listened.
I talk about the physic damage of the body car, the rain and the windshield. I talk about the physic of the tyre with wet track and the connection between temperature of track and rain, a better simulation about the damage of trasmission, and a manage of the tyres during the weekend (maybe with reintroduction of tbc file). And I could go on.

A smaller company like ISI only has a handful of car licenses, so it makes perfect sense to use those existing licenses to maximum. It's exactly the same policy as AC/Kunos uses, recently they got the Porsche license and now they release XX number of Porsche packs. Nothing wrong with this and it's actually better than licensing random cars from different series, which was ISI's old approach. Better to focus on a couple of car manufacturers and a couple of series.

Why compensate? The lifetime users (I am one of them) haven't lost anything, so why would we need paid back. We paid and got what we paid for.

With your logic then everyone that bought at full price would get a refund down to the future discounted prices.

rF2 just needs a couple of full licenses a complete roster of cars and tracks like BTCC (or WEC, IMSA, etc etc...I suggested a Dallara route to F1 as example in another topic too) and even a portal (like Virtual Experience, Just Race or the near to death Race2Play) for events, e-sports and driver ranking will help a lot in the long term...

About old lifetime license, again, a beta build with exclusive access will be a win for both customers and devs, the first ones can play it month earlier than others and devs will have a new full group of beta testers...also this would generate a lot of hype between communities with youtube videos or news on external forums...

Mate, that's an awesome idea. This would go quite a way to appease those restless few. Wonder what @Marcel Offermans would think of this one.

I love that WIP user interface. I think the UI is the worst thing about both rF1 and rF2, so this is good news to me. Please include a cars and tracks tree list view also, as the icon view is good only if the available item list is short.

Hope the Vette 3D & art will be on par with physics. The looking of official cars has been most of the time below par when comparing it with the current standards. Good news anyway :)

    Kindest regards
