I haven't seen a poll for this already so I thought it would be good to get some statistics on this directly from the community on this forum.

I think I've covered most of the options for who is in or out of VR to give us a good idea of adoption and the potential adoption of VR. I've disallowed multiple choice to keep the results easier to keep track of, just pick the option most appropriate for your current status/stance on VR.

Edit: oops typo in the last option, meant to be 'implications' obviously

I'm not going to cancel my Rift pre-order, but ISI's disinterest in supporting it really bums me out.

However, I'm sure somebody in the modding scene will eventually figure out how to implement VR. Until then, I'll probably move away from rF2 and focus more on Dirt Rally, which does support VR.

I need to upgrade my PC so went for that option as I would like VR for Elite Dangerous sooner rather than later! But at the same time can wait until tech drops in price/improves, as I can't afford a PC upgrade AND a VR headset at the same time!

The Big 3 ......Graphics , Physics and now VR. ;)

Dropping rF2 to drive a semi-arcade sim....nah, nothing could ever make me do that . :)

I don't need to be wrapped inside a headset to be "immersed" in my sims or games. :)

I'll probably try it out one day, but I don't see myself actually investing in VR equipment for another 3-4 years.
That's if it's going to be as huge and mainstream as some seem to think it will, which can go either way to be honest.

ISI's current disinterest in VR support doesn't really affect me.
I can list tons of things I'd rather see fixed/improved/implemented before they touch VR implementation (if they do)...
and it's things that would benefit way more people than VR implementation would at this point in time.

VR is basically just really expensive and unproven technology right now.
There are bigger fish to fry IMHO. :)

Will it rain inside your VR headset like it does inside the cockpits ? :)

No, I've purchased new hardware since then – I just haven't installed it yet because my Rift isn't here yet.

I don't care about mainstream or if it is going to be big or not. All i know i once tried VR in Iracing at games-com and was blown away by it. Thing i said to myself back then, i want this.
And i still do but for me there is no point in ordering now because only thing i play is rFactor2 and until rFactor2 or 3 is supporting it i won't buy.

I want VR for more than just Sim racing. I want it for everything else it can do. I will continue to use rF2 as my primary Sim, but I play more than just racing sims. Once I get a HMD I will likely gravitate toward other sims/games as a means to use my hardware. This probably means probably iracing or AC for VR sim racing. I have both, but find rF2 to be the most satisfying sim. I dont know if that will be the case once I get a HMD. Only time will tell. $600.00 was too much for the privilege of using the bleeding edge of VR tech. That is too rich for my blood. I'll have to wait till the price comes down a bit.

I am waiting with my VR order for Polaris/Pascal GPUs and I would like to compare Vive/OR personally before ordering. It will be huge investment for me but I am willing to afford it. So I plan to be VR equipped somewhere in the autumn this year.

I'll wait a few machine generations before trying VR. Give the tech time to advance. Today's VR headset is tomorrow's holodeck.

Tried it, liked it as a gimmic, drove rF2 with it, didn't like it. Not for me.

"I have concerns about the health implications of VR use"

    My vote.

If there are people to test it for me why should I hurry? :)

After having tried VR, I cannot imagine racing without it. ISI have their roadmap and this is fair enough but if they don't adopt VR, I think it will be a mistake...personal opinion so put the pitchforks away ;)
For me personally, I will move away from RF2 if there is no VR since iRacing and AC already confirmed their support and I am waiting for my CV1 to arrive in April
