I dont get it so many writers here on the forum and rfactor 2 specialists and most of the time see ISI servers are empty . Where are you guys are you really playing rfactor2 or maybe you only playing with ai ???? Where are you playing then or maybe you only writing about the game ?????????????
Tell them to fix the settings......... ( I only been asking for 2 years ) All aids + damage + light rubber for open room Pro-Ama 20 minute sessions = no sense to me 1. All aids is just stupid imho, do you want people to actually feel rF2 or not. ? If you allow rookies to use aids you have them doing unrealistic things you can't get a sense what they need watching them. 2. Damage for newcomers open room = dumb I have seen heaps of rookies and pros alike leave The rookies cant handle the damage Pros get written off by a out of control Ai on the first race start and leave. 3. Light rubber is fine if every room has 20 cars lapping for 20 minutes every session, but they don't. Thing is it wont work when there is only 2 people training. If you make sessions longer a few people get better rubber faster. When there is 20 people they can vote for next session, they have brains ? If you make the rubber heavier a rookie and I do not waste our lives training, slippin' and slidin' around off the pace for 20 minutes. imho that teaches nothing and I have trained 100 of rookies for 4 years............
Oh yeah and drop the Longford scripted weather. Seriously changing conditions in 20 minute sessions ? Until people in my room can survive a 60 minute race I won't be using rain. At least that would give you enough time to exploit weather patterns and drying lines. Besides the decent rain doesn't even start until the Race is over. lol Run 60 minute practice and put weather in that ? At least people will get a good go at it when they want to practice - train in wet. If people don't like it or are in a hurry all they need do is skip-vote the session.
It depends on the time. You will find nearly every day on the F3 server some people online. Mostly between 16:00 - 22:00 european time. I helps if you jump in as the first driver. Others will follow soon. Currently are 2 players at F3 server and all others are empty. I think, that the F3 are the most popular ISI servers. Currently you will find the most people playing Flat6 I find nearly every day a public server with a lot of people. You must be flexible in terms of car/track. Today I had a good online race a Mosport 1993 with Flat6 cars.
Note that the server might not actually be empty even if the player count in matchmaker states so. With Steam release of rF2 a bug was introduced where you actually may have Steam players on the server but they are not counted if the host is using standard dedi.
People are in non ISI server. And as said above there is a bug in the # of players, you think nobody is online and when you connect you have a nice surprise.
Ok I made a few changes based on feedback here: - Damage is off - Classic Series servers are set to "Black only" - Weather is dry (overcast) - Practice session is 60mins - Allowed aids are TC and ABS (x1) - Medium Test Team Rubber presets (except on ovals they will stay Green) Thanks for the feedback, GLA!
Too awesome. Thanks very much. ------------------ I know a lot see no damage as sacrilege, I run 50-100% offline myself. Having run a open training room for 4 years I think no damage is better. That way Pros that are bored they can come to rooms in warm-up and dodge the rookies, get pushed wide by one, bang a fence your race is not over and you don't get the chits and leave. It is not like as a Pro you deserve it. Medium rubber is perfect and the longer sessions can be skipped with votes. Gr stuff, WD.
Server 1 just disappeared again we had 5 in just getting revved up for the night. Gr settings now guys jump in
Right now if you want good multiplayer online racing forget everything and go do iRacing If you want good offline with believable AI then rF2 is the best Now if one day they got all the good multiplayer stuff from iRacing and married it to all the good stuff from rF2 we would have a very interesting sim...
Another thing that can help in my opinion is change the cars in the servers every few days (or every week). There are wonderful cars like the Cobra, the historics F2 and F1, Brabham, Skip, Clio ecc, which unfortunately hasn't servers to run with. and also have practice and qualifying sessions too long, does not help imho. 15-20 minutes are more than enough. I arrive probably later
There are certain aids that make a lot of sense for switched input devices and gamepads which need a high Steering Speed Sensitivity setting, such as Medium Steering Help and Opposite Lock, which aren't really an advantage when using a wheel. I also think higher TC and ABS should be reconsidered.
Yes I do but if you need as many aids as Associat0r describes it better is practice offline before you go online and mess up all the fun to other people.
