Just to try out if it gets used, i would like to offer a possibility to share Setups.

You can upload your Setups, to support the People, that maybe don't have time to create a Setup by themselves, or just to share it, because you think it's a great one.
    Or whatever Reason.

But please don't upload any "fake" Setups that don't work or make driving worse.

Currently the DataBase is empty, what i hope will change soon :) and i just added a few Mods and Tracks, yet.
But you can also add Tracks and Mods, if you create an Account and login.

Currently it's designed for rFactor 2 only.

    New:
    - Rating System for the Setups
    - Possibility to add Information when uploading a Setup
    - Uploaded Setups are full editable, if you've uploaded them while you were logged in

    Visit the Site:

    That's interesting :)
I have a "NO valid Setup "svm" File" message when trying to upload.

What are you trying to upload? Porn? :D

No, seriously. Is it a rfactor 2 Setup/svm file?
And if yes, could you post it here, that i can have a look into it?

My Script searches for a special entry, to identify rF2 svm files. Maybe that entry isn't there in every file.

What about stock car setups? I don't see the mod listed.

Make it mandatory to have Garage Notes:

    Author
    Times attained
    Characteristics
    Tips

    etc.

I did just add a few Tracks and Mods.
If you miss a Track or Mod/Vehicle, just create an Account, login and add them.
The whole thing is "interactive", to make it independent from a "main Administrator". ;)
Maybe that creates problems, but it worths a try, i guess.
And if all do handle it with the needed seriousity, it will work as wanted.

I've only planned to add a kind of Rating-System but i will try to add something like that, but not as a mandatory thing.
I guess that will keep too many people away, from uploading.
Not everybody likes to write down things if forced.
And especially because i want to keep it usable to upload Setups without logging-in, makes it a bit useless.

Thanks for posting, it actually was the entry, for that the Script searches to identify the file as rF2 svm file.
I've changed the Script and the Upload worked.
Thank you for the Upload. :)

    Really nice stuff redapg!

I think that the rating system is what can extract from this tool its real value.

I just miss one thing. Let's see if I can explain myself... When I look for a setup, in most of the cases I am looking for a good base setup to start with and to adapt to the particular track I am racing ATM.

It would be fantastic if we could define three generic tracks to serve as a reference. I would think that the most useful criteria would be the following:

    - high downforce / low speed track.
    - medium downforce / medium speed track
    - low downforce / high speed track.

    Other important criteria could be:

    - I would think ISI tracks should be used for this purpose.
    - Short/medium tracks are preferred since it is easier/faster to do testing.

Maybe we could make a poll and get an agreement within the community about this reference tracks.

EXTRA: Regarding the setup tool it would be nice to have some options:

    - possibility to tag if it is a qualifying or a race setup.
    - clockwise, anticlockwise or 8 shaped track.
    - possibility to revert the parameters from an existing setup to adapt clockwise to anticlockwise and viceversa.

    My 2 cents.

Probably would be easier if single track for "base", but have the type of track somehow searchable in the notes.

Thank you for the replies and suggestions.

As first i have to say that the Site is meant as a Location to give or get Setups in an easy way.
Also because of that Intention, i gave the possibility to everybody, to add Tracks, Mods and Cars, if he creates an Account and log in.

I've made it that way, because, if everybody uses it with seriosity and carefulness, it can work that way.

    To the suggestions.
After Durge suggested to add the possibility for giving some information to the uploaded Setup, i added it in a simple way, with a textfield, where the uploader can write what he wants.

But that is a thing that you can't force.
I could add a "control"-function, that proves if the field has some content and denies the upload as long as it is empty.
But that would end with information like "jkbsk-gua<gku.-gfa<ukegfgguuku", i fear. :D

And it's the same with e.g. some checkboxes for "kind of track", kind of mod", "qualy/race setup".....
To add all this is possible.
The question is, will it be used in the wanted way and will it maybe keep people away from uploading Setups.

    I really don't know it.

What we can do, is to try it out.
It would be nice if you could give suggestions about what could be senseful to have as needed information.

    @Euskotracks:
What i didn't understood, was your "reference Setup". :)
That is meant independent from my Site right?

And the "possibility to revert the parameters from an existing setup to adapt clockwise to anticlockwise and viceversa."
is not possible, i fear. At least not by changing some entries in a predefined way.

But if you have an idea how to do it....

With reference setup I meant a to a good and balanced setup to be used as a starting point to adapt it to another track.

Regarding the other options you are right it needs a different approach. Probably a specific tool. I could do something with excel but I have no idea how to program it to make it nice looking.

Then i would have to add an option like "Base-Setups", to get them available independent from any Tracks, right?

And to the Setup-Editing from "Clockwise" to "Counterclockwise" or Vice Versa....
I can't imagine, how that can work with only using predefined formulas, e.g. in which way the track-specific circumstances can be taken into account?
But you are the more skilled Mathematician. :)

I just can offer to put it into an Online-Tool, if possible (for me).

I guess force was harsh. ;)

Given any thought of extending this to Steam Workshop.

It would be nice there to expect all setups to have all relevant info.

Rather then setups that someone got from someone who got it from someone 10 builds ago.

That e.g. also would include to add the information of the Version-Number of a Mod/Track.

It's not the problem to give the possibilities to add all these informations, it's more the question if the uploader will give it.
And if they give it in an usable way. ;)

And to extend it to steam..... into the workshop ..... don't works i guess.
As a "Guide"..... hmmmm wrong Section

Steam would have to create a new Section for it. :D

Imo the version of the car is mandatory information because it could be totally useless for a newer version.
