Just started a list of tracks, may be of interest to some. I am still adding years tracks are based on from the AIW files. Car Spreadsheet - https://goo.gl/BtJQbb - 169+ cars **NEW** Track Spreadsheet - https://goo.gl/G4FFE6 - 335+ tracks (With duplicate venues) Track Visual Map - https://goo.gl/Thr55H Trying out this form: http://goo.gl/forms/6RF2DCOm76 Know the homepages of these authors? If you appreciate the work I put into these things, send me an energy drink to keep me awake to do this for you!
I could add download links.... but the purpose of this was to properly categorise things when the authors did not complete relevant details. The tracks I have started with came from here: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/5i7qjhcufh8sc/Locations I have already been contacted to add updated tracks. I also started an alternative way to lay out track links on a map to make it easier to find things: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1sdAfR7ykpJf9TodqD3Umdt5qSDg Just trying a few different things to see what others might find useful. The majority of mods out there come with an author's name or even a year the track is based on. So I have basically made a lookup table at the moment because the hashes will be unique.
Great List and concept ! Authors: who cares hehehe unknown a lot of those there. I got barely 30 there that I would put into a pack though. Too many conversions feel lifeless.
Great idea and made most useful when the download link is in there. One suggestion: when there are multiple version of the same track from the same author, drop the older versions. Who would ever need or want an outdated version of a track? Maybe there's a way to do a voting system, too. It would be great if people could rate the tracks--on very specific terms--to help others decide if they want to get the track or how to decide which of a version of a track might be best for them when there are multiples. We know there are a bunch of crap conversions out there. But there are also a much smaller number of amazingly well done conversions. Would be great if a newbie user of your database could figure out which was which without wasting time trying them all.
Great ideas... but my programming knowledge is zero so I had to stick with spreadsheets and Google Addins
That all I mean to say about lifeless / conversions / rips , whatever. If tracks where rated for terrain it would lead some people to noticing the subtle differences. I rather a small group of experts did the ratings though, general opinion is too unreliable, no offence meant as I include myself in that group.
I would only put the link to the release thread or authors homepage/workshop instead of a direct download link which would have to be updated all the time.
No, it is read only for now. If the author had one! I picked up these tracks from ISR's Mediafire account and renamed them PROPERLY. Many I do not even know the origin of, but now I have authors for some I will see if I can find their pages. Listed authors in the first post, if anyone knows of their "homepage" can you post it up?
