    Because he is right.

We ( as in Paul and I ) get no email, all we can do is stay how we are.

    Limited online non-Steam users don't.
Neither did we get a discount.

Why would you think he may not need to buy the sim over again when the developer
even mentions it in the very first paragraph. :)

If we remain non-Steam sooner or later subscription will be terminated when ISI was not clear.

The thing why would or should they keep non-Steam subscription with online when the Offline Steam version has no online at all ( if I am correct on that )

Another advantage of 2 is you can use one to edit , hack, mod, test old builds whatever without the constraints of Steam workshop. ( assuming it has some )

There better be fast hotfixes and faster development overall or rF2 will be massacred by the Steamers. There are about 20 UI issues alone that will have Steamers scratching their heads.

For one example, I'd appreciate a multiplayer server list that has something as simple as the car or car class listed. Some plain and obvious manner to see what car(s) and track you're racing. It will come. If it doesn't, the Steam launch will be a big backfire for ISI.

And your mods and everything are working fine? Would you suggest I do that then? I mean the non steam is fine as it is

If you don't get online you don't need to pay/renew anything, and mods and plugins etc will work fine. If you want to go online you can renew to get a year's access. No need for steam to play rF2.

Where did you get that information? If u have non-steam, isi won't take it away if you dont migrate to steam. U loose your subscription only by migrate to steam(then u have only offline version if u had 1 year subscription and need to subscribe on steam again, or lifetime if u had lifetime) or sub expire.

Can someone tell me, if migrate to steam is limited by time or we can migrate whenever?

    My experience so far.

Sent the email this morning and received my key minutes later. Went to steam and activated rfactor2 with the key.

Searched steam for rfactor2 and started downloading..........long time passes...... And game is ready to play. Some syncing with the workshop and a shait load of ISI stuff downloads that I had no intention of downloading.

After that I copied all my packages files to the rfactor2 directory in in the steam location. Installed all the files to game. Then installed all the plugins needed. Started the game and woala all good and happy.

Doesn't say much about sales, but how much people currently playing.
Peak actual 214 players from yesterday evening (21:10).

yes the mods are fine. Put the cars in steam/steamapps/common/rf2/packages but I think Tracks go in program x 86 rf2 then locations. BES and Nordsheiffe work fine anyway

It's up to you mate, but at the moment I don't think you can do the single player series unless you're on steam.

    I never said you did.

Don't quote me on this ask Tim........

Tim said in a thread somewhere something like ...........down the road they "may" stop Limited Non Steam renewals.
At his time they had no plans to do such.

All I am saying when and if that happens you could keep that copy for offline testing and editing, modding.

If you change it now it is gone for good.

Tuttle already pointed in this thread and in no uncertain terms you do not want to go fooling with the Steam version the same ways as Non-Steam copy. ;)

They won't take away non-steam lifetimes from their costumers. Of course not.

Yeah thanks that is what I meant to say. :)

I still think some people will underrate the value of keeping their original.

If Tuttle jumps up and down about what people already want to do if with it ( steam ) , that sends me a message.

Any modder skinner editor physics guy or build tester would be loco not have a use of a non steam version as well if possible. ..........imo

For a start you could run it on a modding PC, laptop..........
