I have the Steam key. But I can't seem to find what to do with it. Steam has options to buy rF2, but no place to enter a key or code.

Will next build in steam include an option NOT TO DOWNLOAD ALL ISI CONTENT? we need something similar to lite installer. Internet is not free.

With Steam UI open look at the very Bottom lefthand side there should be a "+ADD A GAME..." option...also at the very Top of the Steam UI under Games tab you'll find the same option to "Activate a Product on Steam"

I have all the isi tracks and cars in the cache folder but how do I get them to install as they don't show in the launcher menus?

Are you subscribed to any ISI items in the Workshop?

Definitely a good point. To download 10 GB every time isn't the best. For me with 100 MBit connection no problem but for guys with just 16 MBit a big one.

You only download it once not every time.

As Marc says this is only done once. Quick calcs suggest getting 10.8 gigs in 10 hours would average 316kB/s, so that's effectively overnight on what these days is a fairly common capability. Slower connections, sure, that'll take longer, but with planning and being able to resume I don't think it will inconvenience too much.

Is it possible to start installation, cancel it, put all already owned ISI non-steam content in the packages folder and then do 'verify integrity of game files' to see whats missing and download only whats needed?

Check earlier in this thread, I believe someone did something like this. Planning to look into it myself for some league members baulking at the download requirement.

*Oops, make that the other thread.

I'm subscribed to Stockcars and that works but it's a pain to have to search through all the addons to check if they're ISI or not.

Found it. Above the regular shop, library, community tabs there are several very small tabs. Click "games" and activate product is an option.

Sadly I've been searching these forums and googling to find out how to "unsubscribe from isi" to stop automatic downloads. No info on how to do this just "unsubscribe from isi" is all anyone says.
Been looking in the rfactor2 "settings" nothing there. Steam workshop only lists individual items, not ISI as a whole. I'll keep looking and googling.

From what others have said I think you need to do the individual items.

So, I don't understand .. Is it possible or not to install only the lite version ?
Because apparently, I am not registered in the workshop, but the update 10GB starts.
Could you specify in detail the exact method ?
    Thanks you .

Actually there is one way of doing this, I needed to test it still works, I will make a thread in a bit, but for now:

Right Click "rFactor 2" in your library

    Select "properties"

In the first tab that comes up "General" click the Button "Set Launch Option"

Type in -Workshop in the field, and close the window

This will auto-unsub all ISI workshop items next time you open the Launcher

    NOTE:

    - You might need to open and close the Launcher twice for this to take effect

    - Make sure to go back in and erase -Workshop from the "Set Launch Options" field when it's all finished

    - Also if you ever want to resub to all ISI content +Workshop works in the reverse :)

You need to download the full installer [10GB], you can then use the method I just mentioned above to unsub all ISI items.
