You don't HAVE to, no. But you'd lose the year, or whatever remains of it.

Yes, but new content will be available through the non-steam version as well.

Thanks, that answers all that . I say it's only been 2 weeks but for the sake of £9 I might move onto steam as everything is just so handy.

In a user position I think I would prefer the product on Steam, too. Though I know it won't fit for some people.

Last question then Tim, any chance the offers will be left on for when steam goes live? 10% is 10% lol

This may sound silly but I got an email to purchase rF2 through Steam. I have "lifetime" now. Do I really need to purchase again?

No, you're ok with lifetime, that will transfer over but the yearly one we have to wait for the end or pay for a new year or lifetime on steam

They both end when stated. Pretty sure there will be steam sales, bundles, all the usual steam stuff eventually... But not sure when.

No email has been sent to purchase rF2 through steam, because it can't be purchased on steam yet...

But if you have rf2, purchasing again isn't something you need to do at all, no. See the first post, and perhaps check the email again. :)

Maybe too early to ask this, but will there be something in place to avoid a fracture in community when it comes to mods. Ie. Will we see exclusive steam content and will non steam users be able to access this content. Also, will there be something in place to avoid pay DLC.

If you group the cars and tracks together, I only want 15 of the ~40 pieces of content that are officially available.

If I transfer to the Steam version, will I be forced to download/install all of that stuff I don't want?

Oh oh, that are very bad news. As your product is not always free of bugs and new updates may solve existing bugs but also bring new bugs, we as league admins usually do a lot of testing before we approve a build update to be stable/usefull for our drivers so we as a league could update to it without any problems. Taking away this possibility isn't a great idea. :(

You can work around that in Steam, it just isn't the default setting.

I'm personally 100% against Steam, but I suppose if it automates for example package installations (no more "Mod Manager") then a lot of people will find RF2 much more accessible as it is now.

Will migrating to steam mean that steam throws down a fresh install?

Ok thanks...so you can just copy the usual user data stuff over into this?
For any plugins and content not on steam. ..you'd just do it manually as normal?
