You should be able to see two cars, Mazda and Porsche. The Mazda only have esthetic and functional (FFB) options. The Porsche have more options. Two different engines (IMSA and WSC versions), two brand of tyres, plus some esthetic options, as rims and tail. The two brand of tyres have different behaviour, same for the engines.

Check the .PDF that comes with the MOD for more data.

Long way to go on this mod - Porsche is a reasonable drive at this stage but Mazda is far off in all physics aspects.
Looking forwarded to the completed project.

I tried both cars. After a couple of laps I was totally in love with this cars. Great handling. The backfire sound of the Mazda is great. I wish all cars would have proper backfire sound. The celica gto is another good example. So...thanks for your hard work and keep on going. ;)

The first post of this thread has been updated with the details below, but here it is for those of you reading it now.

After quite a bit of work the guys have finished v0.80 of the Group C mod for rFactor 2 and today, we are releasing it to public so you can get your hands on it and enjoy these cars even further with the improvements that have been made. There have been several improvements on both the Porsche 962C and the Mazda 787B and we look forward to hearing the communities feedback. Please be sure to check the changelog below for more information on what has been changed. Paint Templates to be released on Sunday. In addition, Dropbox and MEGA links will be released within the next 24 hours. Currently Mediafire, Uploaded and Rapidgator are the available locations to download from.

You can download the mod via the Group C page located HERE

    v0.80 Changelog

    Porsche 962C

ADDED: New Torque Curve for each engine. More Torque at low RPM and power peak at lower RPM to make the engines more "Porsche"
CHANGED: Engines use a bit less fuel
CHANGED: Small increase on brake power
CHANGED: Headlight flicker reduced but remains for now as the only way to stop it is to increase near cam clip distance which when changed to fix flickering, clips the cockpit, so not useable.
    FIXED: Manual clutch torque

    Mazda 787B

    CHANGED: Small physics adjustments
    CHANGED: Drag adjustment
CHANGED: Small decrease on brake power
CHANGED: Downshift sound modified/removed when using manual clutch
    FIXED: Manual clutch torque

Thanks a lot for this new improved version.

I had a quick spin on both cars, they seem to have less downforce, and are more challenging to drive.

I heard tire sounds in both cars.

Will try more later this week.

    Thanks again and cheers.

This is just off the top of my head, I am sure I will remember/find more with even more driving.

    Mazda 787B:
    - Can't over-rev as it feels like there's built-in RPM protection
    - Sounds disappear at top RPM
    - Having a tough time locking the brakes despite 100% pressure and at 52:48 balance or even 57:43
    - Old tire model that asks for weird camber values and tire pressure
    - The car feels extremely powerful on the straights instead of having a cornering advantage. This car was much slower than the competition.
    - Off-center car in the Tuning screen
    - Dead FFB does not provide tire information, there is only FFB reacting to track aspects like curb or bumps
    - Car lacks depth with dull material settings
    - I thought headlights on would turn on dashboard light?
    - Car is extremely stable, like there is traction control and abs
    - Auto-lift and blip

    Porsche 962:
    - Can't over-rev as it feels like there's built-in RPM protection
    - Sounds disappear at top RPM
    - Having a tough time locking the brakes despite 100% pressure and at 52:48 balance or even 57:43

    - Dead FFB does not provide tire information, there is only FFB reacting to track aspects like curb or bumps
    - Car lacks depth with dull material settings
    - I thought headlights on would turn on dashboard light?
    - The braking capability, stability and cornering speed are mind boggling
    - Extremely stable car despite max turbo pressure and planting foot down, feels more pronounced than the Mazda even. Same with WSC engine.
    - Auto-lift and blip

Thanks for the update. Can confirm on the mazda: the ffb feels very lifeless. Sound could be improved. In tv cam, the sound while downshifting sounds a bit strange. Didn't drive the Porsche now.
    But anyway....thanks ;)

I should first delete the previous version? Or copy the new over the previous directly?

Uninstall, not delete previous version (vía mod Manager or Content Manager).

    Cheers.

too bad the two cars don't register in different car class names w/r to the CCH file... apparently there is no way to tell if you drove a lap time in the Porsche or the Mazda. Can this be corrected in the next version please?

    Thanks Uwe

    What an update, damn! :)
I feel it's miles better than the previous versions already.

A couple of things that struck me (Porche):
*It seems very difficult to spin up the rear tires at lower speeds (2nd gear-ish).
*Brakes seem underpowered even at 100 percent.
    *No gear shift sounds?

Other than that it's a pleasure to drive.
    Great work!
