By the way, I really appreciated the quality of the cockpit art. My eyes were constantly drawn to the ignition boxes. [shiny! red! ooo!]
Even though I'm a Yank, I've never been a stock car fan. But I have been waiting for these puppies for a while and they are GREAT! I have never had so much fun wrecking!! Jacksonville with these cars is just amazing! Thank you thank you ISI!!
No chicane Mid-Ohio, green track, default setup, 100% difficulty, 50% aggression, practice session only... I'm about 1 sec faster than AI with the stockcars. Tried same with Brabham BT20 (which usually I drive with a setup) and I'm as fast as the AI. This mirrors prior experiences for me at Mid-Ohio because I lack confidence with the BT20 default and I usually choose "with chicane" instead of "no chicane". So... my conclusion is that you're more confident with stockcars than other cars rather than the stockcar AI being slow. And perhaps your setup changes are not helping you as much as you think?
There is Road America and we have maniak's Searspoint track (Sonoma, Infineon, whatever you want to call it). It's easy to see why they don't do a whole lot of road courses, ya gotta have a knack for those.
Has anyone been able to adjust the rear view mirror in the Stocks? I can adjust the small left hand mirror but the main (not virtual) points way left of rear and will not center (I would rather not use virtuals)
Thanks for that Wee, I hate those things, but it explains it. Guess I'll have to hook up my trackIR. Sure was a mind boggler!
How do you get it to load on road courses? EDIT: Okay... 10 hours ago I tried to load stock cars on Silverstone and it just crashed upon load... Now I tried Mid-Ohio and then Silverstone... No issues... Weird! It gave me the impression that it didn't work on road courses...
Best to Worst for Oval Night Racing Tracks: Mountain Peak - captures the night ambience nicely Jacksonville - close second Brookdale - it works, but is not polished Nazareth - minimal lights, good moonshine Texas World Speedway - minimal lights, good moonshine Kentucky (no lights!) Indianapolis (no lights!)
Haven't delved into all the racing details yet, but the cars themselves are a home run right out of the box. Perfectly weighted, natural-feeling FFB with everything at default. Handling feels completely authentic from what I know of stock cars and extrapolating my own racing and driving experience. CPM contributing nicely. Three brands so suspiciously close to the real ones that I don't need official licensing. Nice liveries. Great sounds. I am not a big oval fan, but now that we have these, I am sure glad I saved my money and did not get any extra NASCAR content in iRacing. These will feel better and should generate some great online racing.
Stock cars & Bathurst in one week now im not going to get anything done good onya ISI BLOODY FAIRDINKUM AWSOME WORK GUYS THANK YOU
just watched empty box vid ( on stock cars ) + reading around, these are getting some great feedback when rf2 goes VR this will be a good option for ovals for people like myself that use iracimg road and don't want to buy iracings oval content if Isi were to release an open wheel historic oval car ......that would have wow factor I'm sure as Isi are undisputed top at historics great to witness the progress of rf2 even as a spectator ( I've had serious doubts a long the way but they are all gone )
I didn't get any help with my server join problem... I can't enter ISI stock car server. Rfmod download doesn't start and then it says failed. I can enter other server so nothing wrong with my connection settings. I could even enter ISI Bathurst GT server but not stock cars. I can see there are players, but why doesn't it work for me? Please help, I don't want to miss the fun. I already were in one server that had stock cars, but I want to join ISI server because it has the most players.
