I don't know if this is possible through the steamworkshop because its the only paymod for a game iam aware of. Everything else comes through DLCs directly from the company who made the game. But i could be possible through the marketplace in some case. Like different liveries and items for other games. But i don't know how steam handles this kind of stuff.
They only other 3rd party payware mods, which i know, are for DCS but thats also different because eagle dynamics included them in their platform. Maybe some other flightsimmers with casual flight sims can talk a bit more about this, i am just into combat flight sims.

Thinking in the new audience, is already there a quick start guide to rf2?
Like installing oficial content, setting up wheels, pedals, keyboard short cuts, getting online, etc...

There is a bit of a help/FAQ section in the rfactor.net website domain, but of course it wouldn't hurt to have that readily linked/redone/available for users.

Like Tim said a while ago, he will address a lot of Steam related questions before too long.

I wish people would quit asking silly questions about this Steam release. I received a free key for Steam activation for rFactor1, having purchased the game a decade a go.

rFactor2 will be no different. Do you actually think ISI would make folks pay for rFactor2 just because it's moving to Steam? It will be the same game and even better, as it will bring everyone to one place to race online.

Agreed Alan. The other 2 sims I run are on Steam and never had any issues like folks describe. Be nice to have ALL my sims in one place.

Calm down. What wickedness for a question ... If I asked the question is because it has already had this problem with other games on steam. (like elitedangerous, where we wait 2month to know if we receive a steam key or not)

    Cya my racing friends

They might be able to give it away for free in Steam but Valve doesn't allow modders to sell content through Steam.

They TRIED it with Skyrim and failed when many just abused the system.

Actually it never did happen. Steam announced that they were going to allow paid mods but because of the backlash that they got they didn't go through with it. Steam workshop is basically a free for all of mods so since they don't moderate the mods, allowing pay mods would have been extremely stupid. I could have uploaded someone elses mod and charged a fee for others to download it.

They trialed it with just Skyrim and probably not public. But the few spoiled it for the many (as usual). The Steam platform is too big (and too full of some idiots) to be able to make payware in the workshop viable.

Yeah, it was a weird one. I know a few modders who were very happy for it, the guys who made massive big works and wanted a couple of bucks for their work. The fairly quick 180 by Valve though pissed them right off and they just abandoned their work.
And yes...I saw guys charging 5 bucks for the most crap stuff ever. "Hi guys, I made the gold coin texture brighter, $5 plz" XD
