http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2015/09/11/the-flare-path-back-on-track/ Just thought I'd highlight that here for anyone who hasn't seen it. Not much we don't know already but it's on a VERY popular gaming site and hopefully will drag a few more into the world of sim-racing, or at least get them to come and see what all the fuss is about.
I suggest you guys might want to pop into the comments and help people out with any extra useful information you want to pass along to any potential newbies.
I dare you, drink a shot every time you see “like driving on ice” said about a racing sim and your liver will be dead and buried before you’ve even felt the effects of the alcohol.........lol
Hopefully Reiza. They've done some impressive things with the RF1 engine, just imagine what they could do with RF2. Let's face it, what RF2 really needs is someone like them to license the engine and make a proper game out of it.
I don't think it's rieza since they extended their rf1 license. Plus rieza has said many times they don't like rf2.
I think they do like it alright. It's just that they (Niels anyway) doesn't want to work with the new tire model. He has said that on numerous occasions.
I wonder if it's The Sim Factory. I'm not sure if they're still in the software business or not though.
The standout thing for me in that article is that they've already licensed the RF2 engine to a dev. Fantastic. I can't wait for other games coming out based on the RF2 engine. Very exciting times ahead.
I just cant wait when track temp is implemented linking with the weather...and the tires working with it. Also wind and humidity. Thats all ive ever want. And limited tires set also re using used rubber
I think every rF2 user is waiting for this from begining sun heating the track, clouds and shadows cooling the track, water cooling track and tires... If this is implemented in the right way I could happily uninstal every other sim I have in my PC right now and I would not regret in any way.
Yup, real clouds, lighting, humidity, wind, heat, track surface, temp, wetness/dryness, rubbering ("RealRoad"), grip, aquaplaning, water levels/depths, etc. etc. all dynamically affecting one-another in the alive and breathing grand ISI "RealWorld" system. Once ISI incorporates and refines most or all this stuff (if they do) they should seriously refer to it has their "RealWorld" system of which "RealRoad" is a part of.
During the crowd fund stuff I asked Reiza if this would be possible, they said they plan that for their next sim together with 3d animations. I think and hope he was talking about Reiza there
