Exactly... It's a lovely track... But for the super-righteous, it's off limits. We can't have them racing on rips or unauthourized conversions PSA I guess!
Nah it's scratch made... Keep driving... It's like giving bacon rind to a book reader. Said book tells such stuff can't be eaten. Mmm bacon...
Then why would i need to edit my post? The vid I posted wasn't of a track originating from nfs shift.
For what it's worth I never made the claim that it was scratch made, it even came to a surprise to me that that claim was made over at rFc, someone else must've edited the page to state such. All I done to it was add quite bit more trackside content from various other modders/tracks (even ISI), and up dated most of the textures. As for whoever originally made it, the furtherest I could trace it back to was Sean Vollmer. But even then, I don't completely know how much input he had with it either. The rest of the story seems correct though. Where it came from SBK (Milestone), and SimBin got it into F1 2002/F1C99-02, then I brought it over to rF1.
If there's any commercial work taken or conversion without permission it can't be posted here, regardless of quality.
I agree about commercial work. If author/permission cannot be traced back or the track is so old it's more likely the guy who modded it is "dead", then I don't see the problem of posting it here. Asking for permission from track that was created in early 2000's is in Internet age comparable to asking Bach for permission to use his music.
Yeah, no worries. I just wanted to clarify that it was never my intentions of claiming it as my own. I just so happen love the Kyalami layout from the F1C 99-02 days, and wanted to do it justice to the best of my ability for rF1. I damn near searched heaven and earth looking for permissions and/or original author. Even shot off e-mails to Milestone but never heard anything back. Anyway, Here's hoping whoever modelled the new up and coming layout of Kyalami can make it find it's way to rF2 (with permissions). I was a bit dubious of seeing it to begin with, but once I seen the video, it looks as if it's going to be fantastic. Thanks for sharing that info in the other thread, John. Even though I'm a Aussie, learning most of the history of Kya, you can't help but love the place. Definitely a place to visit on my bucket list.
How is it, all the years here whenever I jump on anyone for anything ripped I get pillared. ? wtf ? Now here you all are calming explaining permissions. lol This BS of some making their own rules to suit themselves as they go .......... is BS. You should have done this in private and contacted the author or anyone did a conversion of it for anything else. Can't remember is not good enough. ffs lol It is like ORSM they took everything from Codies but that don't mean you can go and rip their work, stuff you people have some weird ideas. and for any little track ripping snots making jokes go and make your own bloody rip, no you don't because you have not got the talent !!!
I didn't know you had to be good at modding to joke... Also how do you know those guys don't have talent? I'm pretty sure someone who's making jokes is actually extremely talented and given rf2 tons of great circuits...
