solved. reinstalled and working well, any mistake in the first installation, but no error is reported. sorry
And now that it's solved, is it any better than the prior 10 or 12 iterations, none of which have made a spit of difference to (bad) rF2 performance?
About a year ago wasn't it? maybe longer, can't remember. Anyway that's when everything "clicked" for me with my single HD7850, I then purchased a 2nd to go Crossfire and it was a fluid delight forever more, until April....when I went travelling!
oh yeah both OC for me but can't remember exact settings (maybe in my Tech Specs cant be arsed to look), can't wait to get back to it!
No appreciable difference. 14.9 think it was the poor performance improved, framerates HAD Doubled, then step performance from very bad to acceptable and no changes. By the way DX12 support
Well, I tried 15.7 and saw FPS fall almost in half (as per this thread). But now even when I do a clean reinstall or revert back to 14.9 or 14.12 I am stuck at half FPS!! I only tried 15.7 because it was an official update and 14.12 was mediocre performance. Now I just screwed myself. Other than a clean uninstall (PC reverts to generic VGA) and using DriverFusion to expunge all driver-related entries, what else can one do? (Other than staying with NVIDIA, which is what I should have done in the first place.)
I too am getting hammered. With a r9 290 oc tri-x I can only manage in the 60s with everything on @2560x1440. Barber. I use to get mid 90s with the Omega driver.
I change in configuration 3d games (CCC), anti-aliasing = supersampling-muestreomultiple-supersampling to ensure that remained the same. View attachment 17325
i have 15/20 fps gain with this driver.7850 oc here. i had same problem with last driver, half frame rates in game.i did tried everything reinstall drivers, older, newer, driver fusion...on fresh win7,but no luck fps was half down. and then i figure out it was radeon pro, when i installed rpro(and it was just before i update driver)tried to uninstall rpro and again older, newer drivers but no luck, still half fps. then i reinstalled windows and didnt install radeon pro and used newer drivers and everything was normal, duble fps so if you have some software installed maybe thats the problem..
Those driver developers at AMD should be flogged...seriously! How can anybody have this much time to dedicate to a core product's operation...and yet get it so wrong for so long? I remember the ATI days and the original Radeon series... What an evolution. AMD took over and they can't seem to find their way. They make the absolute best hardware. The darn cards are "pieces of art". Why can't they get the drivers sorted? Every time I attempt to re-visit the brand, I see stories like the one above. I'd love to spend my money to support them...but I won't do it until I see some positive improvement.
Anyone tried these drivers with a HD7950 yet? Curious to try it, but don't want to get my hands burnt, given the results others are having, I suppose the old saying "if it ain't broke, don't try and fix it" may well apply to me here, rF2 is running pretty nicely at the moment for me. Installed the 15.7 driver on both my systems, coming from the 14.12 omega drivers. Performance improvement in terms of both FPS and visual quality here, so no complaints from me. Both systems run an i5 4670k, 8gb ram. One has a HD6850 2GB, the other an R9 280X 3GB.
I left AMD about 4-5 cards ago due to driver issues. nVidia haven't annoyed me enough with anything to switch back yet, just the rather annoying stripes on things. AMD hardware is amazing, it's a shame really.
