What do you guys think about doing a few short test races possibly with just 2 drivers per car, just to get even more familiar with the procedure, and also with rolling start. Would it be possible to have our server handle it like their server did, I mean requiring full stop, off, etc?

Had a one hour run last nite. Was concentrating on consistency and errorless run.
I think a free mind and enough rest and sleep is important for a long and errorless run. Also tell close frens abt the event so they dont come knockin on the door for a sat night drink lol.

Some prep i made
- Ive channeled my engine sound to a small speaker (with lower volume than usual) and TS conversations channeled to my headphones and mic.
- swapped projector to monitor (coz i dont know how much bulb life i have left)
- I have not installed any plugin on the steam rf2.

Basically the less thing i have the less thing can go wrong. Amen/touchwood.

For team A, Im prepared to do 2 stints of 1.5hr run.

Lets organise. For us Aiman will run first.

I hope we can still get someone to sign up last minute for Team B so we can have 5 drivers each team with 3 hours per stint per driver.

Also there was some scruffle abt weather in FB. I think everyone here know how to adapt and i wont be any prob for us. Principally

I do have a plugin for my mobile app dashboard, but have been using it since the steam launch and it never caused problems, and it gives me valuable info.

Would appreciate some info on when I should run so that I can prepare.

p/s : planning to do a test race session where we try to re-join the race incase of DC. Do it on the event server. Unwritten way to rejoin is to kill rf2 using ctrl+alt+del after DC and launch it back and re-join server.

 

That was a 55 minute run with one pitstop for refuelling. The tires lasted at the end of the 2 stints

So I will change tires every 2 pitstops

 

My son asked me this and I don't think so. Is there a way to do presets for pitstops?

He said he can do this in PCars. I said "PCars?? Pffft"

I told him it is called Conrod Straight...haha That's is why we have buttons and Dpads on our wheels. I was going to configure Voice Commands using the Spotter plugin, but need a full day of fooling around for that

 

ya I think rejoin is crucial cuz DC can happen at any moment.

 

Yeah, Conrod Straight once you are on 6th gear, and also pit lane if your pit box happens to be right before pit exit In pCARS you cant even steer in pitlane urself, so can't expect much

Btw now after a good sleep post-race, and thinking back abt it. Was telling myself "wut was i thinking?" Lol

But srsly other than its craziness, it was full of goodies that i cant start talking abt....apart of all the twists that happened during the race but WE ALL FINISHED IT!!!!!!
