Sorry, I think you misunderstood me. I don't have problem with the volume. My problem is with the quality of the sounds. And the (lack of) downshift sounds. So I should have said "improve" instead "boost". Btw car modelling: in rF1 in cockpit view you can see the "zig-zags" at the edge of the windshield banners (not an AA issue...). Also the motec displays, some of them look like crap. I hope they make it better this time.
The team is busily investigating on the best graphic renderings for our Endurance Series rF2 cars. We though we you share with you some shots we made during the test. Note that cars on the screens may have different graphic setup wich may not reflect our final choices.
Nice shots! Number 4 (black Nissan) looks wrong to me. When the car has a matte skin (no reflection) the color should be more grey and produce a wider specular reflection. A sharp specular reflection (smooth surface), like in the screen shot, should produce a lot more environment reflection. The green Aston (number 1 and 2) looks perfect. Nice material settings for car body, windshield and headlight cover.
Thanks we will look into it, the Aston on the screens is more advanced than the other cars in terms of graphic setups, that is maybe why.
My wish for this mod is, since it is meant to be raced in large fields, please please please have a close look at the LOD's. All other big rF2 mods struggle in that area (poor performance). There is no need to render a car 500 meters away with 10000 polygons. If you reduce the opponent detail from full to high there should be a significant increase in fps and not only a switch to the next lower mipmap level. But I guess you already know this, because the rF1 mod is, as far as I can tell, pretty advanced in that area. I just want to make sure it's on the list.
Any news guys, in other words how do you progress. Things still looking good? I know everybody is hyped about the stock cars right now, and with a reason but then again we haven't forgotten about you.
Hello, not much more news than what we said when we posted the last screens, we are funetuning the graphics, and the biggest part of the job is currently the physics development.
