Basically I've watched the video of how to convert rF1 tracks to rF2 and I've been using the same software. I follow every step and I try and load the track in 3DSim and it just doesn't load. I've edited the gbd file, scn file, I've opened the mas files and put the GMT and DDS files into the GMT/maps folder in assests. It just doesn't load or show the track. Here's what I get. I don't understand, so if someone could help that would be great. I think it's something to do with maps folder but I've not done this much before so I could be completely wrong. Most likely a missing path in your scn. What have you got in there? Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
//------------------------------------------------------- SearchPath=. SearchPath=HOUSTON07 SearchPath=HOUSTON07\Houston07mas SearchPath=HOUSTON07\ASSETS\GMT SearchPath=HOUSTON07\ASSETS\MAPS SearchPath=HOUSTON07\pcrew_maps //------------------------------------------------------- MASFile=COMMONMAPS.MAS //------------------------------------------------------- That's what I have currently for finding the files. I won't show everything because it's long.
SearchPath=HOUSTON07\Houston07mas line above seems to be incorrect, is your track folder HOUSTON07/HOUSTON07, if so, should read as follows SearchPath=HOUSTON07\Houston07, by the way this track is already out there with all animations
I edited it and it still won't load. It's odd because if I open the original rFactor 1 version it works but I try it in the moddev for rF2 and it won't load. Also do you have a link for a Houston rF2 track? I haven't seen one anywhere
I downloaded this file, unziped and opened the scn in 3dsimed. Track loads fine so now on the export tab, export gmts then textures and update scn. My file structure is Houston07 Houston07\Houston07 (with updated scn) Houston07\GMTs Houston07\MAPs In the scn, copy the contents of _output.scn to the Houston07.scn overwriting the instances but retaining the pathing and views. Pathing obviously needs to be set to reflect the structure above. Loads fine in 3dsimed barring a few textures.
Lol, it works already Anyways, spoke with Andy via PM and it turns out the instances were missing. Grabbed those from output and all good now.
Yes sorry thank you everyone that helped. Just need to do a lot editing with the lighting, it's almost proper white on the track some areas. Need to smooth it out and edit shadows too. Hopefully should be half decent
