Hello, since the last 2 months with the newer builds, my friend with a 2nd generation i5 2500 processor can't get steady framerates anymore. I have a 4600 i5 (4th generation) and have no problem at all. We both have a 770GTX Jetstream. We replaced everything from his PC to test if some of his hardware is faulty, other mainboard,RAM,swapped GPU's, replaced his i5 with another i5 from the 2nd generation. Nothing changed with his performance. Put his HDD with his OS into my PC, updated the drivers, and FPS immediately went up. Is this for real? The differences in performance between the 2nd and 4th generation of the i5/i7 family have only in some cases in gaming a maximum performance difference of ~4-5%, usually next to none.
The big difference is his GTX770 is running at Pcie 2.0 Stutter did he try GPU sync ? I had stutter on windows8.1 with no vsync and 30 fps less then W7 But GPU sync it was smooth and the same fps as W7 GPU sync Wierdo. 2500K@4.5GHz Pcie2.0 VS stock Haswell @3.9GHz turbo Pcie3.0 no contest for mine.
Yes ? Because a Sandybridge is PCIE2.0 and rFactor2 likes PCIE3.0 better. Not because of Processor architecture or clock-speed.
this makes maybe only a difference if you configure a high end multi gpu solution. for single cards, there is absolute no difference between pci-e 2.0 and 3.0. http://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Impact-of-PCI-E-Speed-on-Gaming-Performance-518/ edit: also, come to think of it: why would a software "like" pci-e 3.0 or 2.0?? Devs can't configure anything about this and they have nothing to do with it.
I am afraid you are wrong Where does that article refer to rFactor2 ? LOOK HERE >>>>> http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.p...f2-using-PCI-e-3-0-x16-with-higher-end-cards! Read that, absolutely no difference ...............if you say so. What you think a GTX770 is not high end GPU ? My 4690 running 600MHz slower then my 2500K (4.5Ghz) I got significant gains with only a GTX670............
You're correct; it's only a few % difference in most games, however (as Durge pointed out), there are some pretty big gains in rF2 for some reason. Those tests even show scenarios with over 35% framerate improvements. Why is rF2 such an exception to the "norm"? I have no idea - it's really, really odd. The bottom line is, though, that it is the exception as all those users' tests prove.
Yeah rFactor2 ...I MADE THAT ABUNDANTLY CLEAR Well be serious you don't think I play poofy Far Cry or Crew or something ffs wake up it is a RFACTOR2 FORUM He even asked the question specifically about rF2...................oh dear lmao
you just threw something on my head i never heard of in 15 years of computers, without any source of valid information, and i am the dumb one cuz I question it? yeah, i really am an idiot... Back to topic: thanks for the info, wouldn't have guessed in a million years......
lol I am calm I just highlighting for impact mate, sorry if any offence taken gkz and spin sorry , thought you know me better. FarCry and the Crew are poofy no matter wots'. lool I mean anyday I can get told no one can understand what I say or I get a condescending interogation like..." Do you speak English ? " loool hehehe that is until they want to respond to something I said they must have understood selective memory loss ? .... hahahaha nah makes no sense to me either. I wasn't having a go at him or anything was I. ? ...Soz loool
