It's not working from a clean install of 860 here. And it's a clean install because auto-update was disabled on the previous build (inadvertently according to you).
'New tires that have been built on the new build'? So does this mean that all ISI built vehicles have the new contact patch enabled, albeit in a not fully complete state? Sorry if I'm being a bit dense, I'm just confused.
Tires in rF2 have a lookup table that is generated with the TTool in DevMode. To see the effects of the new tire model this lookup table has to be regenerated (on the current DevMode build). So no, current ISI content will not be using the new tire model until updated/new content is released.
Apparently not. It was only fixed in the new launcher you do not have yet (which handles updates of content, etc as well). You will have to manually update as before.
My initial impressions: - Install went smoothly (lite build over top). - Sao Paulo looks much, much better now. - Shadows appear to be improved. - 3D looks better to me (I may be drunk though) - Happy work was finally done on spotter volume. I did delete cbash and shaders prior to installation. My only gripe thus far is that the color red may not be red enough, but I could be wrong. Also, when in cockpit of some tin-tops, the sky still looks blown-out. Now to play with physics ... So far, I think this is a great build. Nice work ISI and thanks.
AFAIK, the real-time contact patch model functions independently from TTool and only uses the generated look-up table, which would mean that a change to the 'physical' tires wouldn't be necessary.
Do you have a procedure to do that from tire we already have in the devmod in progress (based on available ISI tires)? Not familiar to TTool, just need a help to load and click on the good button to regenerate without other change to compare with the current one in test. So no available cars today is compliant with the contact patch update, right? Thanks for this confirmation, when you will be sure, could you confirm if the password bug with multiple dedicated profile fixed?
Okay then, thanks for explaining. So the first time we'll get to feel the new contact patch will be with the stock cars, I suppose? How about the water/ocean surfaces? Has this been fixed? Sorry I'm on a train back from work, haven't had a chance to try out the new build.
That aspect of autoupdate was not active on B860, so you will have to update manually. In post 860 builds, it should be working. In other words, you can't use B860 to get it working.
Oh what a cool little reveal. Didn't know the Vette was that close to completion. What are the plans for updating all your other earlier cars with the new contact patch?
wait, what??? New Corvette??? as in updated, or actually new??? EDIT :: wait, what??? Gjon on the forums??? What a strange day so far, lol (much appreciated though!!!)
TBH I don't have a lot of experience in the TTool so I'm not sure what the quickest and easiest way to retest a tire is.
