Looking at your benchmarks it seems the 9 series is performing much better on dx11 stuff
This is where perhaps nvidia's focus is

Rf2 is still dx9 so maybe that's why performance increase is less

    Perhaps you're right.

edit: But even Skyrim, a dx9 game, is performing 27% better with a GTX 970 vs GTX 770.

Nvidia has spent more time on skyrim because it's a large seller
We will not enjoy this with rf2 (&alot of other sims) as it's not so mainstream & nvidia will spend less time on optimisers in their drivers

So that's nearly a $300 difference for less than 5% performance gain in only clock speed (not cores)... plus a 3rd party closed loop water cooler is available for $80 that will allow you to overclock any gtx card and get better cooling than any stock cooler.

I used the same PC and same TV with both cards. The 770 was better (I picked it up on sale for $279 in August)....same clock speed and cores as the 680...but less memory (2gb vs 4gb on the 680). I think NVidia just optimizes the drivers for newer cards.

It's funny you say that because I read a number of times here that DX9 is not an issue at all...

Until someone tests the 980 with rF2, this is all hype. I would love to have the best 3 monitor performance for the least amount of money and a single reasonably priced card (no Titan or SLI frustration for me). We're not going to know until some from this forum buys one and posts their stats.

    @DrR1pper
    Benchmark Civic @ Silver:

is weird in a way that OC doesn't give as much performance boost as expected.

I just did the older benchmark: Clio @ Loch and there the same OC gives me 9-10% perf. increase, so more reasonable (but still not as good).
So, maybe you could do it with your cards and then see what the difference is?

I do not think the result is the same with Mantle in use in relation to BF4.

Would be a pity it would not,......for a new gpu gen, but matching is not beating. :) Mantle is a DX killer.

I'm getting the same type of performance frame rates with 3 monitors and 2 x gtx680 in SLI. So either SLI is still broken or the 970 is about as fast as a 680 with rF2 given that I'm running triples.

You'll have to elaborate. Not enough info to discern your performance.

    I ran the same Civic @ Silverstone benchmark non-overclocked and I averaged about 66 FPS...min 45...max 89. I'm running 5780x1080.

    I have a i7-3770k non overclocked and 8GB DDR3 @ 1066Mhz.

    GPU is 2 x gtx 680 FTW SLI @ 1150Mhz Memory 3004Mhz

    Game: Everything Max'd except AA @ Level 4, Shadows/SFX @ High, Reflections @ Low

    Driver: 344.11 rFactor Build 860

Then it's pointless comparing anyone to your results. You need to test at 1920x1080.

Again, i don't understand why you deviate from the benchmark settings given in the file. It has 2 screenshots of the display and resolution settings. Everything should be maxed, vertical FOV 60, 1920x1080 and level 4 AA. Repeated run 3 times to ensure the numbers are consistent.
