I noticed while practicing with my friends for this week race, i get random FPS dropped, and every time it happened this particular bar in the middle of CPU time graph is going up and FPS back to normal when it goes down. I reckon something is stalling the CPU/thread but i don't know what does that bar stand for. Things that i've tried to eliminate/identify the problem. 1. Reduce graphic details to low and drop resolution to 900p 2. Removed plugins. 3. Try different tracks and cars. 4. Disabled replay. 5. Disabled CPU HyperThreading. 6. Disable Anti-Virus, only Steam and some lightweight stuff running in the background. 7. Disabled FFB. 8. Clean rF2 reinstall. None of those work. However it only happened when i'm driving the car, no such problem when i'm watching someone else driving from the monitor. It may happened in previous build(<798) and previous graphic driver but not as severe as this one. Sorry for the blurry video but this is the best i can do with a crappy upload speed. Track is Searspoint, car is Nissan 370z
Maybe it's an issue with the track itself? Can you try disabling shadows (off). Then try with shadows enabled (low, medium, high, or full) but with time scale off. Then try with both, time scale and shadows disabled.
Happened to all the track i've tried including ISI's. Did another test and i notice it will surely happen when i'm weaving the car or go into the grass/sand. In my previous video too, it did happened mostly while cornering. Silverstone | Megane | Private Practice | Shadow and Timescale = Off | Keyboard only Unplugged both my wheel and gamepad, drive with only keyboard and still happened. Check above video. I also tried removing and swapping the ram but still the same.
Found out that MSI Afterburner frame limiter is the culprit. Maybe last week Afterburner update causing it, turn it off and no more "random" frame drop. Thank you both of you.
