In light of the discussions we have been having about oculus rift support for rFactor 2, it would be nice to see how many of those who frequent the forums would like to see oculus rift support for rFactor 2 asap.
First vote . I won't receive my Oculus until late september at best, but once in my hands I am only playing games that support it as my triple screen setup is a little bad (18'' monitors) and have to mount it every time I want to play due to wife "kind" request. LFS and pCars seem to be doing well.
Wouldn't "have/will you be getting a Rift to use with RF2?" be a better poll? Just telling ISI that we want Rift support sooner or later isn't really going to show them how many of their users are going to be rifting in RF2. I vote no rush.
No point making it for consumers when the goal posts for the consumer version are likely to change over the next couple of years. If VR lives up the hype that some put on it, being "the future of gaming" then I don't think there is any rush, it will be around for a while. The fact that non-devs are using the dev kit v2 is not something that ISI should really care about. When the specs are locked down for the consumer version then the fun will begin.
Hehe, I think you guys will have better luck getting a plugin like we had for DK1. I've seen vittorio online a couple of times but he hasn't commented on if he is working on something.
For the ten people around here who have dev kits? Time could be better spent me thinks. Why not wait for the consumer version?
This is assuming that implementing support takes a lot of time. I'm not saying it doesn't but equally i don't know if it does. If it doesn't take much time to integrate, it would be nice to have support for those who have a rift and you'd be looking at a possible few days delay on whatever next build is released.
rFactor2 don`t have multiview support, 64bit TrackIr don`t work, oculus rift support asap, dream on.....................
. With the thousands upon thousands of devkits out there now people are hungry for playable content. Sales of Live for Speed have risen just because of the rift support, same with things like DCS World and Elite Dangerous. This tells me that it would be a sensible commercial decision to add rift support and get new gamers on board
