AUTO UPDATE -OR- FRESH INSTALL is required (or highly recommended to not have duplicated or orphaned files everywhere) to allow for proper location of 32bit and 64bit files. Auto updating shouldn't have this issue. NEWS ITEM/MORE INFO: http://rfactor.net/web/2014/07/22/rfactor-2-build-798-now-available/
I thought I had a fresh install for 770, but still had that "old UI" issue. Do you have a step by step for fresh install?
For me, 'fresh' is: go to docs/rf2/packages, save those mod files somewhere else. control panel, programs, uninstall rfactor 2. make sure rfactor 2 folder is gone (the core, in prog files by default) delete the rfactor 2 data folder (in docs by default) install rf2 lite copy the mods back into packages setup rf2 as desired.
I assume you didn't remove the old core fully when you uninstalled, or in fact perhaps still have something running invisible to explorer. Check task manager and make sure the directories are actually gone before you install the new build.
Thanks. Its working. But 32 bit plugins working not all on rf2 32 bit. For example, i cant start trackmap plugin.
After fresh install the controls menu isn't working for me. As soon as I go to the controls menu the game freezes makes it impossible to reassign the controls. Anyone got a solution for this problem?
Your subscription must be expired , you will have to update manually , take note of the manual update steps . I'm interested in this line in the change log 'Updates no longer require login.' Does this mean auto updates are available to all after this update or not ? EDIT: I would back up your UserData folder as well as Packages in case you have some setups you want to save.
HI TIM: this application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt platform plugin "windows". it says re installing the application may fix the problem. well it has not helped by re installing any1 got some help for me ? PLEASE HELP ASAP
Try going to the "Launcher" folder and run "Launch rFactor.exe" from there. If that works, then your shortcut is most likely incorrect for some reason.
I'm still a bit unsure of how to make a fresh install. As you can see I have the earlier build installed in documents (I have nothing rF2 related in the "program files" folder): View attachment 13662 Is it correct that I need to delete "core" and "userdata" after I have uninstalled rF2? I'm not sure what you mean by "delete the rFactor2 data folder"? EDIT: Scratch all that. Auto update worked like a charm, as always.
