After years of bashing consoles as just rubbish ports compared to PC motor sport simulations I think I have to pull my head out of the sand and admit that I am now wrong.
Recently had the opportunity of racing the McLaren P1 at the Nurburgring Nordschleife in Forza 5 on the xBox One and it is stunning, immersive, fps steady, incredibly realistic and most importantly a huge amount of fun.
The comparison screen shot below is undeniable. I know that rF2 has some fantastic physics features but it looks so aged against the next gen consoles I find myself thinking about buying an xBox One more and more, I cant believe that it has come to this!

Well, it's a racing simulation and not a beauty game........so; I don't mind the looks that much as long as the car feels like a real one does because THAT is why I want to simrace.........

How much did you pay for rFactor2 Nurburgring Nordschleife ?
Stay on tracks made by ISI and it is np.

It's a bit unfair that in the screen shot you showing is a unfinished 3rd party track made by one person. And the screen shot you picked is from new build where the trees don't work.
I do agree that the graphics on Forza look stunning, 13000 hours work on one track does show.

Funny my version of Nordschliefe looks 100x better than your screenshot.. You must be either running low graphics and/or a bad version of it.
    Enjoy the xbone.

In build 770 trees on third party tracks don´t work in general?
    Or only on nords?
Can someone give more info about this issue?

    Thanks and greets
    Pete

Well, the information is actually in the release thread and news post for everyone to see. Those trees are outdated (GMTs), simple as that. I know some people would prefer to not move forward in any way, but then I wonder why the OP bought an XBOX One to move on from previous gen consoles, when he doesn't want to see rF2 do the same. I can only assume he doesn't want us to support 64bit.

The sim racing community does a terrible job of explaining how LIFE LONG development of skills and experience leads to levels of immersion far deeper than what you can buy with money. And the multiple layers of context added by participation in championships and managing your sim racing career (in addition to adding balance, focus, purpose, progression and meaning to your sim racing) multiplies this deeper immersion many times over.

LIFE LONG skill development, testing, experience, championship participation and career management deliver deeper immersion and lasting enjoyment. Not graphics.

Also immersion is not necessary or sufficient for lasting enjoyment. To achieve lasting enjoyment requires progression and context and that is all.

The good news is that progression and context each leads to better immersion than you will ever buy with money.

    Ah, OK. Thank you Tim!
There where just a few notes in the release notes that I didn´t understood
or did not understood what they mean exactly.

And: Yes I appreciate this moving on!
I ever found the old trees very annoying.

Only thing is: It will now take some time until the modders reacted to those and updated
theire content. But it´s good that they finally HAVE TO update (those trees)!

Edit: The question comes to my mind why the heck you (ISI) decided to make this change NOW!? Why wasn´t it there from the beginning?

When someone does a GFX comparison using a buggy screenshot it comes across as very trollish.

a simulation requires graphics sufficient for immersion - for me at least, even with well made 3rd party tracks, rf2 has plenty good enough graphics.
Just been messing with the apex gp3 mod at the ring...flippin awesome fun

Enjoy. Whatever experience suits you best, it wouldn't do for us all to be the same. As long as we enjoy whatever we're racing on, fair play :)
