I got it working by the copy and paste method, but just considering that you are overwriting the .71 content with version .70 stuff, aren't we actually erasing the newer .71 content??? Just seems weird and counter productive, but I've been wrong before.
When you update with the small update-file, the 0.7 folder gets deleted and only the 0.71 folder with the new Thrux.mas exists. So the track can't work. When you've followed my copy/paste way, you have both, the 0.7 and the 0.71 folder, inside of the Thruxton folder after updating. And that is the same result as if the update-procedure would work normal. You get the 0.71 Version as final result.
Tried this track for the first time today...wow, great work and what a nice track with a nice flow. Perfect for the BTCC car and the EGT Porsche. Thanks!
It is a great track. Plenty of room for speed yet, just enough kinks to make it interesting. (the speed part can get you too, if over confident).
Okay got ya. so I guess the new build isn't adding the new update in addition to the original, it is replacing it. Surely that can't be a hard fix by ISI.
Weirdly, I've been loving the FISI F1 cars around here. Something about those really high speed sections and sweepers and the loading through the wheel XD Great fun trying to balance the car with the DRS open, some of the sweepers you can keep it pinned with DRS going, the car just starting to slip out and skate at the rear. Bloody great Almost like any car is good round here. Bar maybe the Clio or something, lol
Was always my go-to track in rF1 to test a new car. It really is a great track and we're lucky to have a good version for rF2.
Thanks--just so everyone knows, pay2021 is one of the heroes who has helped to improve this version of Thruxton in the past and now in the present, too
Dear rob1178, sometimes it's worth the time to read a whole thread. Simply go back to site #5 and read from the beginning.
Well, pay2021 & lasercutter this is such a fine effort and great fun to drive@speed in every car I've tried so far..and yes, easy to get a bit over zealous on the throttle but lots of pasture for recovery ;-) 0.71 works fine on my iMac. Looking' forward to .072.
We have a league race coming up on monday at Thruxton, and now two of our drivers reported damaging their front right suspension when they hit an invisible object on the curbing of Segrave/Seagrave corner. Is this a known issue? Is there possibly a fix / updated version available somewhere that I am not aware of?
It is a track issue. I joined a race there on v.72 with NGTC cars and the person following me in 2nd exploded out.
