Further to the 64-bit information the other day, I've tried to write up exactly what this means for you in terms everyone should be able to understand: http://bit.ly/1pbtrLr

Will this make the game smoother? I sometimes get little micro studders but
my frames remain above 70. Anyway thanks for the explanation Tim ;)

Good news. When will the 64 bit executables be available?

Depends on the reason for your stutters. You should be able to get rid of stutters now, but you might have to make sacrifices that you may not have to in the future.

Jeremy wants to get it done for the next build which he intends to schedule for next week. However, that's just his intention, what happens might be different of course. It won't be long though, in my testing offline 64bit is totally stable, online there are some issues they are dealing with, and we don't need to release and introduce more online racing barriers at this point.

    Hi
One might not have anything to do with the other.
    But would like to ask.
    Will
1 rf2 64 bit still work with windows 32 bit (there are computers running win 32
2 if the above is a conflict and you attend to have a 32 and a 64 bit core will there be mm and or problems online.

    Thanks

    Ruben

Has the performance been optimised a little as well? Currently we're already struggling with performance on 32 bit textures etc.

So, no use having 64 bit textures if you already have to run 32 bit textures at low or medium settings with a high end PC anyway.

No, you can't run 64-bit applications on 32-bit Windows.

Good news, evolution is appreciated. In endurance races in special circumstances and with mods and tracks high quality is customary to hang above the maximum memory supported by 32 bits. Leaving many drivers out of the race, and even hanging the server leaving everyone out. It will also be one of the simulators that use the 64-bit before, but others are having problems like; sy have also undertaken work in the same direction. Good Luck.

That's not what he asked but could be what he means, yeah. Only ISI can answer that one, though I'd put money on the 2 clients being able to talk to each other no problem. It just wouldn't make sense otherwise.

So I'm not familiar with the implications of 32/64 bit changes to the core program so pardon the stupid question: will the plugins currently available for the 32 bit version (trackmap, ect...) keep working or will all of these have to be re-coded?

Pretty good question. I hope they will still work fine (and I think mainly about the Simvibe one).

    1. No. If you have installed x86, you are not utilizing your x64 CPU, and the software can't either. No 64bit application will work on Windows 32bit.
    2. How does this relate to the first question? We're working on compatibility between 32bit host, 64bit client, vice versa, etc. right now.
