Anyway consider that the benchmark i did was with everything maxed. I could actually run with some minor tweaks and dinamic vsync at 60 fps rock solid. I can confirm that 14.4 runs smoother so i'll stay with that. Inviato da mio iPad utilizzando Tapatalk
driver 14.1 , silverstone 12 cars 20/25 fps to start ............. driver 14.4 ,silverstone 20 cars 80 fps to start...........
What guys doing for aa just like an idea. If 4x is ok Sent from my RM-875_eu_euro1_260 using Tapatalk
I can't see a QA diff between 4x and 8x. FXAA blurres the picture and SSAA doesn't looks really any better while it blurrs the picture as well on higher performance costs.
heres a grab of Fxaa on / off cant remember what AA think x6 with fxaa without especially look at the light grey fence in front of people..
XFX Radeon HD 7970 Black Edition Every setting maxed out, Silverstone, 20 Camaros. 13.1 / 13.6 Beta 2 @ 60 FPS MAX - 42 AVG 14.4 @ 90 FPS MAX - 81 AVG 14.4 with GPU V-Sync enabled @ rock solid 60 FPS. Micro stuttering has also gone.
Just tested the new driver with Loch Drummond 2 lap replay and i'm totally impressed. Spec: Intel Xeon-1230v2 | AMD HD7950 | Max in-game setting | 1080p + HDR + AA lvl3 Tested back in February with Catalyst 14.1 Beta driver Average FPS = 33fps As you can see the framerate is unstable and too many micro stutter(little spikes) With latest driver Catalyst 14.4 WHQL Average FPS = 60fps (Capped@60fps) The graph is smooooooooooooooooth. (close enough) This is exactly what i need to continue rF2 subscription which will end this June or get it permanently.
You do benchmark with Fraps and choose to do benchmark for FPS, Frametimes and Min-Max. Fraps will export three files in folder where you want. Then use another utility called FRAFS and put those three Fraps files in it to make the graph.
Can I just point out that, impressive framerate increase aside (and obviously I'm assuming all settings etc were the same), you can't compare an uncapped framerate test to one that's capped. If you'd set a max framerate of 15 in your first test it would be very smooth too.
I found that rf was smoother when i had sync on at 60, than when it wasn't on at around 80fps. Sent from my RM-875_eu_euro1_260 using Tapatalk
Well, I was so excited reading all the comments, found time to install new drivers and got bummed. Unfortunatelly, they don't work good in crossfire with my two HD6870. I have big grey screen flickerings and on the track there are so many textures missing, everything is messed up. It does run smooth, but I can't drive like that, the whole road is missing lol With disabling crossfire everything looks OK, but that's not the point, I need the second card for the power and to run supersample AA. I would rather downgrade to 13.12 than use only one card. I have problem only with RF2, other games are running fine. I see there is also 14.4 Beta driver, is that one older or newer than 14.4 whql?
Beta driver as been released before the windows hardware quality lab. Release dates are next to the download link.
So you got big increase in framerate like you just got a free video card. No one says boo hardly ? , a few smiles, no streamers or party, you should all be doing back-flips. hehehe What is it with rF2 users ? totally weird to other sims.
Indeed, but even without framecap it still much smoother roller coaster ride compare to the one i tested back in February. Yes i used the same setting for all test, ingame and launcher. This is the one without frame cap using 14.4 WHQL. That is almost 125% performance increased for my system. Compare to the February, 14.1 beta driver. I forgot which rf2 build was this.
U can't imagine how bad the performance for some of us was i guess and there is nothing for free, we just get payed for our patience from AMD
