Hi, you don't need an ini file for the plugin to work. I suspect you didn't copy the DeltaBestBackground.png file into the plugins directory, did you?
Log shouldn't be active... it's not meant to be enabled for releases. It's for debugging purposes. Ouch... I'll release a new version without logging. Sure you are using v9?
Yes, debug logging was accidentally enabled in v9. Now I updated the first post with v10, also attached here, which disables this logging. If you have a DeltaBest.log or similar, feel free to remove it. View attachment 12701
could that be the cause of occasional 1 frame delays when racing? I renamed v0.9 and it was "fixed" so definately your plug in causing a slight issue. Worked fine in practice but more noticeable in Race.
Hi, I have downloaded your's last version of plugin, i copied all file to ...\Plugin and rename file 'DeltaBest.example.ini' to 'DeltaBest.ini' and it doesn't work. I have been pressing CTRL+D and i can't see the delta time. What i should do ?
just drive some laps. but you should not press ctrl+D. it is already started when you go on track. you can toggle it off / on with ctrl+D.
Norton quarantined the plugin saying it's not safe. Pfth, what nonsense. What would make an anti-virus software respond like that?
See http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.p...-for-rFactor-2?p=273723&viewfull=1#post273723 for a similar report. A plugin is essentially binary code that performs Windows and DirectX calls, so it's understandable that it can be detected as false positive. If I were you, I would consider other products or none at all. Personally I don't use AV software. In my experience it slows down your machine significantly and usually installs a crapload of stuff I don't need (at least Norton did). YMMV.
I just experienced a problem this weekend. I had a long endurance race coming up and when I got into the car (join as spectator + driver swap) the plugin didn't work, which was a real shame. As I find it very useful even in the race, because I have no split times during the race session. I was not using the latest version, but couldn't retest it since yesterday. Any idea on this? Reset HW Plugin doesnt seem to affect the plugin at least in offline single player.
Right. I don't think I ever tested the Delta Best plugin with driver swaps. There is a bit of logic that decides whether to activate the display of the plugin. Probably that logic ignores the driver swap event, so doesn't recognize when you start playing after a driver swap.
Would be great, if it would work. Really helpful think especially in endurance races to make sure, that you hit your laptime targets.
Just wanted to say thanks again for this great plugin. A wonderful addition to rF2 that is so good ISI should consider building it in or re-doing it on their own.
Thank you very much cosimo. It's a very useful plugin for me. I've a question, is it possible to have the delta time with the best lap of the session, instead of with the best lap from the start of rF2?
Thanks! Yes, it should be possible. I've tried to fix this bug a couple of times now, but it seems I don't intercept the right event (session end). Will try again
